Genocide Files: As confirmed by veteran BBC journalist Ahmed Sa'eed Igge, #Somalia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Abukar Balle, identified himself to U.S. government in 1988 as a member of the Isaaq clan, stating that his family and relatives had been massacred by the Siad Barre regime in Hargeisa , #Somaliland.

The revelation directly contradicts Abukar Balle’s recent statement at the UN Security Council, where he denied the genocide committed against the people of Somaliland—despite his own earlier testimony acknowledging that the former Somalia government carried out mass killings against Isaaq civilians.

The account underscores a stark inconsistency between Abukar Balle’s personal history and his current diplomatic position, further intensifying scrutiny over Somalia’s official narrative at the United Nations.

Je me réjouis de l’annonce de l’accord entre l’#Éthiopie et le #Somaliland.

Depuis 33 ans, le Somaliland est une démocratie indépendante, non reconnue par les Nations Unies.
Cet accord constitue une première reconnaissance du Somaliland par un État africain.

Mogadiscio devrait prendre l’exemple de Prague pour gérer le divorce entre la République tchèque et la Slovaquie, et formaliser cette séparation de fait entre le Somaliland et la Somalie, depuis 1991, pour repartir d’un bon pied avec son voisin et conforter la sécurité dans la corne de l’Afrique.
