An adequate supply of #supportedhousing can also help to take pressure off residential care as people's needs can be met earlier and prevented from escalating, helping them maintain their independence
@Rethink_ this morning with colleagues from @CarersUK and many other organisations promoting the rights of carers at a roundtable with @Helen_Whately the Minister for Social Care and to start the countdown to Carers Week. We called for a clear cross government strategy for carers
We're looking for people who have received crisis café/sanctuary support and would be happy to talk confidentially to a post-grad researcher about how they found it. We will feed back results to policy makers and hope they will be a basis for more research on this.
Participants receive £20 as thanks. Please do get in touch for more details if interested.
TW - neglect/death.
The appalling case of Laura Winham gives more disgraceful evidence that vulnerable people are falling through the cracks.
Government must act, change is needed. Laura's death was preventable and she deserved so much better 👇

@EdDavie@so_says_sally@BenWealthy1 Really useful Sally! I compared Spending Review 2021 and today's doc and like-for-like comparison for NHSE budget shows difference between settlements 23/24 falls short of £3.3bn (difference is £2.6bn - whereas bang on £3.3bn for 24/25). Is there an easy explanation for this?
The huge problem here is that council tax raises least money in the very areas that need to spend the most. National funding, properly allocated, is the only fair and rational way to fund #socialcare.

💬 On Monday, the government could announce real-terms cuts to the NHS, social care and benefits.
We can’t let that happen.
Please, email your MP and help us turn the tide on mental health 👉 https://t.co/Zj4hH2jcsY
💬 According to @CareQualityComm's report, more people are seeking help for their mental health from the NHS & social care, but too many are not having their needs met.
The system desperately needs long-term funding and staff investment to improve the future state of care 👇
Huge congrats to EbE Leaders in Coventry & Warwickshire for winning the #InnovateAwards Excellence in Patient and Public Involvement in Transformation and Innovation Award tonight - well deserved recognition! @Rethink_

Sincerely hope @SteveBarclay will not say (as suggested in @thetimes this morning) that mental health should no longer be a priority for @NHSEngland today. That would be a disaster for thousands of people already struggling with both physical and mental health needs
@helengilburt Hey Helen - would you be happy to follow back so I can ask a question privately regarding Kings Fund work on the Community Mental Health Framework?
