I find myself on sick leave and becoming an absolute expert on the Olympics. I would love to be achieving more right now but sometimes you just have to listen to your body!
@EmmaDee77 We need to create a structure that would support those that wish to, my degree helped me to really reflect on my practice more critically. However a great starting point would be acknowledging skilled, experienced practitioners and paying them accordingly. Degree or not!
Fabulous evening spent celebrating young musicians playing for their Preston Simpson and Sterndale Trust Scholarships @HpoolCouncil. Well done child no 2...always a joy to hear him play 🎼📯
@DrSdeG 75 LAs have funding for Family Hubs which builds on the legacy of sure start in a considered and sustainable way. Hopefully more funding will secure this nationally and ensure the Hubs are sustained and meet the needs of families 0-19 (25 SEND).
@DrSdeG Closure of Sure Start Centres was one of the greatest mistakes of ‘austerity’
BUT @UKLabour must not make the same mistake as @Conservatives by closing down family hubs purely on ideological grounds - assess what there is now & build from there - don’t waste knowledge & resources
And there is hope....was a privilege to be able to speak to @bphillipsonMP last year about Early Years reforms @sunderlanduni and to come away feeling she had listened. Big task ahead but she wants to make changes.

I am 3 weeks in to a nerve and muscle issue in my neck. You can surprise yourself at how resilient you can be though I will welcome a good night's sleep sometime soon! 😴
I have heard 2 year olds show better respect, listening and turn taking skills. Are these really the best on offer? But at least there's 30 hrs free childcare on offer regardless of failure to properly fund staffing and provision 🙈 #bbcdebate
