My values have never wavered, but the political party I’ve always associated with no longer upholds the values we once shared. My state of disbelief devolves into anger as it dawns on me that they never had them in the first place. It was all a sham. #howtheleftislosingme
I accept the risk that my kids will probably contract covid in school, just as they could contract the flu, RSV & other contagious diseases.
There is a trade-off. Masking has harmed our son’s language development. We do not wish to limiting our kids’ social interactions.

@AJKayWriter It’s interesting so many responses are encouraging pulling kids and home schooling. Yea that’s what all you loonies should have done in the first place and left those of us embracing normalcy alone.
@daniela127 Toddler contact traced as recently as last week. The littlest of the little are still being treated so poorly. We were informed at 10p on a Monday we didn’t have care the rest of the week.
I've been thinking about this for hours and it seems to me that what those police officers did in TX - waiting outside, protecting themselves, while children were shot and killed - may be an extreme result of the culture we've established the past two years.
In 2020, we decided
The reason toddlers are still masking and subject to perpetual quarantines is we parents have no recourse. If we leave there are 10 families waiting for our place. There are no Boards to oust. No PTA’s to join to find like minded people. No incentive for them to stop.
@ajlamesa This. My stomach drops any time I see the phone number for daycare appear. It’s exhausting being in a constant state of wondering if we will have care for our child. Just this week the infant room at our center closed. Care is totally unreliable.
My child’s teachers reported that the children looked incredulously all day at their unmasked faces on Wednesday. For my almost 2 year old this is all he’s ever known. I’m angry but I have to forgive for my own well-being. That doesn’t mean I will forget.
I thought today would be a day where my toddler would finally see his teachers and peers unmasked. Instead it was radio silence from school, and masks everywhere. The defeated feeling is consuming. In the words of one of my fav podcasts: you’re in a cult. Call your dad.
@mbfrat I agree. There is a willful ignorance as well. I’ve seen multiple districts site this and it’s like wow did you even google it? Either you did and have nefarious intent or you didn’t and you’re inept. Either way it isn’t good.
