If we have any chance of talking the scourge of plastic pollution blighting our beaches and warming our climate the global plastic treaty must tackle plastic production too.
The UK must back this progressive motion!
@sascampaigns
Slightly misleading headline.
Seems both main parties are happy to promise that the regulators will be able to do more to protect the environment. Whilst also tying their hands! @sascampaigns https://t.co/ksuHULDFt3
Going for a dip this spring? After storms and high tides, sea water and foam may contain bacteria particularly in areas where stagnant water accumulates and pools between tides.
@PublicHealthIOM@IOMGovernment What about the routine discharges of untreated sewage at Laxey and Peel? Id suggest that's a pretty massive risk to public health too? and a risk that is well within the gift of @IOMGovernment and @manx_utilities to tackle
Ahead of the GE, we're urging all parties to adopt the End Sewage Pollution Manifesto asks and join the fight to #endsewagepollution ✊ SAS' @gilesbristow recently met with Lib Dem leader @EdwardJDavey to highlight the devastating impact sewage pollution has on local communities.

Taking the front bench to beach front. Great to push @UKLabour to be more ambitious. So far there policies are just scratching the surface.

Prioritise high risk pollution
Reveal the truth

Rather than growing company coffers we need @Ofwat to have a green duty that priorities the growth of thriving rivers and seas.
Bad news for our rivers as Government plans to push water company regulation even harder towards economic growth over cleaning up the environment👇

Instead of a duty on company growth, @Ofwat needs a green duty to clean up our struggling waterways🌊

You are correct @manx_utilities its not due to defective infrastructure, because that would require there to be infrastructure in the first place rather than it simply being pumped out raw every single day.
#endsewagepollution
What a great way to start the day at #LabourConference
Flanked by community groups, politicians, local swimmers and environmental campaigners we jumped in the Mersey to celebrate the power of clean water.
This is why we do this!
