What can a student do with 12000 living away from home managing all the expenses. When we consider inflation, 12000 in 2019 is equal to only 8000 today. This is just plain financial exploitation.

Jammu and Kashmir, as a Union Territory, carries a distinct administrative accountability. The responsibility resting on the Central Government is therefore not merely political but moral. One hopes that those in power recognise the weight of that responsibility and respond accordingly.

If raising genuine concerns about exploitative intern stipends is now being treated as a “violation,” then GMC Anantnag seriously needs to understand the difference between discipline and dictatorship. Forcing students to delete videos and harassing them for speaking about their rights is shameful. Freedom of speech is a fundamental right, not a privilege granted by authorities when it suits them. Medical interns work day and night in hospitals yet when they raise their voice peacefully about injustice, they are targeted instead of being heard. This intimidation culture must end.

Pray tell what rule have they broken? Is articulating one’s grievance peacefully also a crime? Our doctors deserve dignity along with redressal of their genuine demands.

Unbelievable that Health Minister is instead ensuring they are punished. Intolerance at its peak.
