Ivey: Both women received numerous gifts from him including designer purses, guns, shoes, flowers, a laptop, cell phone, kitchen aid mixer, robotic vacuum, vacations, tickets to performances—it wasn't just any performance. It was Hamilton on Broadway. Now my anniversary's coming up. I've been married 38 years as of Thursday, and my wife really wanted to go to see Hamilton. But when I took a look at those prices…
A new whistleblower complaint reveals a serious flaw buried in USPS's mail ballot system: if even one ballot's barcode fails to scan, the entire batch — potentially thousands of ballots — gets rejected and sent back.
According to the whistleblower, USPS hasn't disclosed this to the public, and even days before launch, still has no policy for how many ballots will actually be checked.
It matters when huge methane leakers get busted by satellites. Of course Republicans in Congress went out of their way (changed Senate rules!) to protect our worst methane leakers (aka their stinky fossil fuel donors).

Whoa! Oliver Darcy reports that Bari Weiss personally ordered CBS News to change the headline on its Abdul El-Sayed story so it would specifically mention his deleted tweets about the September 11 attacks.
The point was to smear Abdul El-Sayed.
A data center company wants to build on land inside a national park.
So they handed the park's top official a map of how to divide it up, and NPS's official boundary lines changed to match it.
Here's the plan. Highland Digital wants to build four 100 foot data centers and a substation in Triangle, Virginia, right next to Quantico Creek, a waterway that feeds directly into the Potomac River. Their genius move? Swap 73 acres of wetlands they can't build on anyway, for 36 acres of forest they actually can, forest that's currently protected federal parkland. Call it an even trade if you want. It isn't.
Nobody's said how much water four data centers this size would need, where it would come from, or where the wastewater would go. That's not a detail. That's an open question nobody in charge has bothered to answer yet.
Why this land specifically? Existing high voltage transmission lines already run through the area. For a data center, that's the expensive part solved for free, so they're trading wetlands they can't build on anyway for forest they can clear.
Can you believe this isn't even their first attempt? Highland Digital already tried this exact same data center, on this exact same site, at the county level. Severe public backlash forced them to withdraw their special use permit in May. So instead of taking no for an answer, they went straight to the federal government instead.
Here's what it looks like from where I sit: when the public got a say, they said no. So now it's happening somewhere the public doesn't get a say. Nobody's going to come out and admit that's the strategy. But that's exactly what's happened so far.
To make that happen, they hired Jeff Small, a former senior Interior Department official from Trump's first term, as their lobbyist. Meetings between Highland Digital and the park's top official started back in May 2025. By the time the story broke, Rep. Vindman (D-VA) had already been asking the Park Service whether it even has the legal authority to make this exchange without congressional approval at all.
An independent analyst who reviewed the deal said: even though the Park Service technically gains more acreage, "the developer comes out ahead." That's not just about acreage. It's about what's actually on that acreage.
This park is a designated Important Birding Area, home to 129 species of birds.
Doesn't matter anymore. Not to this administration. A mother bird could come back to find her nest gone, her chicks gone, the whole tree gone, and legally, under the rule they just finalized, that's not "harm." Not anymore.
Long before any of this, this park was called Chopawamsic, an Algonquian word meaning "divided streams." The Doeg people lived along these waters, and archaeologists have found their camps and tools along Quantico Creek, buried in the soil for over 10,000 years. They never got a say in what happened to this land either.
This isn't happening in isolation. In July 2025, Trump signed an executive order directing federal agencies to put data centers on federal land, and to skip full environmental review, the same review that would normally catch exactly these kinds of water and habitat concerns. One year later, this same administration finalized a rule removing "harm" from the ESA. And they plan on using both of those tools right here, at Prince William Forest Park.
This is how it works. Quiet meetings, informal agreements, deals shaped long before the public ever gets a say. We've seen this exact playbook before, water rights secured, meters tampered with, all before anyone outside the room even knew to ask a question. It's the same playbook in Texas right now, where Musk's SpaceX is angling for 775 acres of a wildlife refuge that's home to endangered ocelots.
Prince William Forest Park may be next in line. We have to guard our public lands, because this administration is attacking them, one quiet meeting at a time.

#BREAKING: Legendary #Maddow: “CNN reports that others who have been sent there have reportedly been told that they only have three months permission to stay in the Central African Republic now that they’ve been dumped there. They only have three months permission to stay in that country if they can survive that long, and then at the end of three months, they will have to be deported somewhere else, which presumably could mean back to their country of origin, which in Khalil’s case, would mean back to the Taliban, from whom we, as a nation, explicitly promised to protect him, as part of the deal, as thank you and as a sacred contract, in return for his family helping our military while we were at war there.”😢
The President of the United States is at war with you. He’s trying to disenfranchise you, he’s trying to take away your vote, he’s trying to steal the midterms. You need to accept this horrible truth, and you need to fight back/retaliate against him. So for starters, when voting this year:
1. Use drop boxes.
2. Vote early in person.
3. If voting by mail, put your ballot in the mail at least 2 wks before Election Day.
4. Share these instructions with everyone you know. He’s at war with us. We must be at war with him. And defeat him.

“Not only is this system astonishingly untested, USPS has simultaneously implemented an impracticable zero percent failure rate. ' When ballots are submitted to USPS in large-volume batches, if any one ballot in the batch cannot be verified against the Portal, all ballots in that batch will be rejected.
For example, if a state election official brings a batch of 10,000 ballots to USPS and USPS is unable to match just one of those ballots against the Portal — because, for example, someone has recently changed their name after marriage or they've moved — then USPS would refuse to mail the remaining 9,999 ballots as well.”
“He lavished two of his female staffers with gifts of jewelry designer purses, shoes, flowers and gifts, and vacations to name just a few examples, he commented on their appearance and dress in their congressional office, remarking favorably on their weight and telling them they look and breathtaking in certain clothing. He invited them on intimate one on one outings and trips, restaurants, casinos . He sent them personal texts late at night wrote them deeply personal letters and poems expressing his affection. He even skipped a vote series decorate a Christmas tree at one of the staffer's homes.”

Republicans have already handed DHS nearly $240 billion. Now they want to defund local law enforcement unless states agree to do DHS’s job for them.

BREAKING: DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin now says that ICE will be arresting people at polling places on election day. Specifically:
"ICE isn't there to patrol the polling places, we're there to enforce specific threats. The only reason why we would be at polling places if there is a threat to that polling place or we're serving a warrant on someone that we have been actively tracking down."
This is why they killed Democrats in the streets. This is why they keep arresting American citizens. They want Democrats to be too scared to show up at the polls on Election Day.
