'But what happens when our institutions fall silent in the face of mass child death? What does it reveal about whose lives are valued, whose grief is legitimised, and whose suffering is too politically inconvenient to name?'
Not only about Gaza, about YOU

Climate change experts,
We switched off the lights and recycled the plastic. We even planted trees and did the carbon literacy training. Is the planet standing a better chance of survival now?
So rather than look at why 14 years of instruction has not resulted in fluency, we’ll send Leaving Certs off to the Gaeltacht for 3 weeks, cos that’ll fix it 🙄. And minor details of who pays, where they stay, what they’ll do?? What’s ‘Silly Season’, as Gaeilge?

With #Bloomsday2025 looming, a timely re-share of Jinan Ashraf's blog about how a chance reading of Joyce in a small Keralan library took her - literally & metaphorically - all the way to Ireland, to @DCU & @NLIreland#Joyce#Ulysses
Well worth a read 👇

It gives me humbling honour to #KeepTellingofGaza as part of the #Festival_of_Libraries_2025. An event that highlights the role of language, culture and education:

Joyce in Kerala? Yes! A blog by my friend and brilliant scholar @JinanAshraf writing about her journey from a chance find of “Dubliners” in Kerala to a PhD on Joyce in Dublin. A must-read journey of books and borders. #ReadingJoyce#Libraries#Bloomsday2025@DCU@DCUSchoolofEng
Enjoyed working with @JinanAshraf on our special #Bloomsday blog. A chance reading of Joyce in a Keralan library set her on a life journey to @dcu & beyond. Books & libraries change lives!
