Last night I read from cover to cover Newlines Institute's "genocide" report in Tigray.
It is a huge report, well documented, detailed but at the same time methodical.
Over 1000 secondary sources cited; about 500 issues analyzed, reviewed international instruments on "genocide," many enablers who were top government officials, including PM Abiy Ahmed, his top civilian and military officers, and you tube activists who justified the act of "genocide" are also registered and documents.
Conclusion: Reasonable : "genocide" has been committed in Tigray: "This report situates the credible allegations of crimes against Tigrayans in the context of the Genocide Convention, as well as related doctrines within international criminal law. In doing so, it highlights possible implications for the responsibility of Ethiopia as a State as well as the need for a full criminal investigation. The report convincingly identifies at least a reasonable basis to believe that genocide was committed against Tigrayans as an ethnic group, including through mass killings, the use of starvation, and the destruction of critical infrastructure, as well as countless instances of rape and other acts of sexual violence. By foregrounding the question of genocide, the report opens the door to a fuller understanding of the severity and scale of the harms suffered by victims of this under-reported conflict."
Cycling along well protected streets of Addis Ababa will not erase this chapter of crimes.

#Ethiopia: Banking services remain absent in war-torn Irob, Tigray region despite peace deal
https://t.co/0HT31jc8uE
Residents in #Irob, a minority group in #Tigray, have been without banking services since the war broke out in November 2020.
Despite the peace agreement, four kebeles in Irob are controlled by #Eritrean troops, making it challenging to access public services and receive humanitarian aid.
The absence of banking services has caused financial difficulties for the community, forcing them to travel long distances for banking needs.
tens of thousands of Tigrayans continue to languish across camps in Ethiopia. A former ENDF members released from the notorious Awash Arba speak about their mistreatment there, and says many are still in agony there, & many others have been disappeared.
