I've spent many years as a public servant for my neighbors, and now I am seeking to serve my state. Candidate for Tennessee's 28th House District. #TeamHakeem
I'm an ardent advocate for mental health, & I've a past serving the city with treatment & resources. For #MentalHealthMonth I plan to discuss resources & policy in full, but for now, read a/b urban living & at-risk populations https://t.co/RTFaTJ0qPC
Memphis being stripped of funds for their Bicentennial is a travesty. Memphis is one of the great Tennessee cities that is known worldwide.

The legislative leadership in Nashville is proving further to be more about politics than stewardship. It is the right of the citizens to decide what they want to do with their land and public art: not the state.
With the proven, profound benefits, including the ability to stop & quell opioid dependency, I am coming out in favor for Medical Marijuana in the State of Tennessee.

And the more voices involved in the process & execution, the greater the success the city will have in serving & raising its people. https://t.co/UlooCfQn1O
We remember the 1906 unjust lynching of innocent #EdJohnson today. SCOTUS tried to save him, but a mob took his life in their own hands. Regional rule still varies frm fed rule, though the brutality today is legalized. #MassIncarceration is a problem, & TN needs to fix its system
This type of proactive legislation is the kind TN needs. Let's continue to support our schools by supporting those who attend and work in them. https://t.co/n0xgNG4095
Grateful to Pass HB1699 @MetroSchools which gives Our Teachers Extra Time for IEP Planning. Teachers can use Professional Development Days to Plan for Our Children's Educational Success. #loveinthehouse#loveforeducation
Our communities were built by selfless women who worked long hours to raise their families, support their neighbors, & make sure tomorrow was a better day. Though we celebrate them today, may we remember this everyday.
Happy #IWD2018, to one and all!
And with all this reinvestment on ML King Blvd, the @TheBessie is going to be the centerpiece. Thank you @WDEF for shedding some light on the silver-lining.

Protecting our children in schools should be priority #1, but TN #HB2208 would have unintentional, negative consequences. Our ed. system has enough stress w/o having to add the arming of teachers.
Here’s what you need to know: 1) it’s HB2208 2) the House sponsor, @TNStateRepDByrd (the acct has only been used once) is amending it to arm teachers statewide 3) this bill is in Civil sub at 1:30 pm in the Cordell Hull Building, hearing room 3. https://t.co/GatB3wcv8e
It's programs & initiatives like these and the leaders & supporters involved that build great communities. Thanks to all for championing #DigitalEquity, and congratulations! https://t.co/r9nwBUmJVc

Happy #PresidentsDay2018! Tennessee just celebrates George Washington, but we know it started with him + Abraham Lincoln, and it grew to give federal workers time off, because workers deserve breaks too.
