There's something called task initiation deficit and it's one of the least talked about parts of ADHD. People know about focus. They know about hyperactivity. Almost nobody talks about the specific neurological difficulty of just beginning.
People who say ADHD is just laziness clearly haven’t experienced your brain ordering you to get up for a glass of water while your body negotiates a 2-hour hostage situation with the couch.
Being neurodivergent is realizing not everyone spends half their day negotiating with their own brain. Apparently some people just decide to do things and then do them.
Suspicious.
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson have been named the WNBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for Week 5 of the 2026 season.
It’s that time of the year when a Midwesterner sees the current temperature outside is 75° but stop to question whether that’s 75° in a 90° way or 75° in a 60° way.
If you’re over 15, I shouldn’t have to explain to you that some people want to be parents and being a parent made them very happy, and some people don’t want to be parents and being a parent made them very unhappy.
Women are not clones
Des Linden has been pretty busy this April.
On Sunday, Linden averaged 7:02 per mile to run 3:04:24 at the London Marathon while pacing a friend, capping off a total of 220 miles of racing this month. Six days prior, she ran 2:35:49 to finish 30th in the women's division at the Boston Marathon, and a week before Marathon Monday, Linden completed the six-stage, 168-mile Marathon des Sables through the Sahara Desert.

Dear Runners. Not everyone runs to become faster. Some run to heal. To breathe. To remember they’re alive.
If you’re out there running at your pace, you’re already winning. 🥇
This girl said, “When you walk through a museum, you’re not just looking at art. You’re moving through centuries of people trying to explain love, grief, power, beauty, and belonging.” And now I can’t unsee it 🥺❤️…
There are still people who ask “what’s the point of reading” and the best answer remains “because it’s FUN.” Fiction is a pleasure. Learning is a pleasure. Reading is not a chore but our greatest escape from the pressures & perils of living.
