On the main stage of @EBSuniversitaet Law Congress 2022, @MichaGrupp explains the logic and logistics of no-code legal automation, as developed by @BRYTER_io. His company just started funding the BRYTER Center for Digitalization & Law at EBS Law School @Stadt_Wiesbaden.
Exciting announcement (go, #Gobo!) from a very thoughtful thread (recommend reading!) by one who'd know better than most whether #MastodonOrTwitter. His answer is: Both! He offers sound reasons, but they also suggest: Once @joinMastodon goes mainstream, @Twitter may whither away.
We need tools that will let us manage all these different rooms from a single app on our phones. That's coming - our Gobo project will first let you read and post to Twitter and different Mastodon-like networks from the same client.
Instant fail. The https://t.co/iD9RduaRel community is closed. (Anyone know why?) I can't find another as interesting (just https://t.co/X0DMNfAJl9?) & the quoted article advises *specifically* against joining https://t.co/rdob7eaebY because it's Twitter all over again. Now what?
I just read this beautiful introduction into @Twitter alternative #Mastodon on the #fediverse, a network of "e-mail-like" social media. I am hooked. Decentralized & emergent content curation sounds like a "futuristic" & Musk-free world indeed. Need to try! https://t.co/t89IIpxrq1
Herrenhausen Conference "AI & the Future of Societies" @VolkswagenSt kicks off @xplanatorium with a "tutorial" by @FredrikHeintz on applications & challenges of #ArtificialIntelligence, as it is "getting democratised". Some 70 scholars attend, 30 more talks follow until Friday.
Let me commemorate 3 of my most inspiring colleagues who passed in just 5 months:
Rᴇɢɪɴᴀ Gᴏʟᴅsᴄʜᴍɪᴛᴛ, 55 (31.7.66–24.4.22) @MaxPlanckPress
Jᴀɴ Eɪᴄᴋᴇʟʙᴇʀɢ, 49 (14.10.72–13.8.22) @HWR_Berlin
Dᴀɴɪᴇʟ Hüʀʟɪᴍᴀɴɴ, 37 (23.8.85–29.9.22) @BFH_Wirtschaft
Please, 2022, stop.
I'm distraught & mournful over the passing of one of Europe's most revered early-career law profs. I saw @DHuerlimann (23.8.1985–29.9.2022) inspire many young scholars since we met @Open_Con 2015.
His family asks for commemorative donations to @UNICEF: CH88 0900 0000 8000 7211 9.
Last week our @OpendataCH community member @dhuerlimann passed away.
Daniel was a key driver of openness in the legal field and beyond. He not only understood both law and tech, but applied them himself.
We send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
I sometimes get asked how to design surveys. This new working paper by @S_Stantcheva is the best introduction anyone could hope for: https://t.co/ngpE0Si9Dh
It's extensive, clear, and on the research frontier. If you're looking to run surveys, read this.
I just concluded a @ZiF_Bi workshop with 30 German legal scholars, all with secondary degrees from other disciplines. Thought-provoking keynotes on the challenges of interdisciplinarity & potentials of digitalisation by @MBeurskens (@UniPassau) & #ThomasGutmann (@WWU_Muenster)...
In dieser Woche stehen @ZiF_Bi die Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung für die Rechtswissenschaft auf dem Programm: Workshop "Legal:Inter:Faces" geleitet von Norbert Paulo @UniGraz & @HanjoHamann@EBSuniversitaet. Es gibt auch einen öffentlichen Vortrag: https://t.co/rsIUYudX2a
All of the above were joined in lively discussions by @AnnaKBernzen @FobbeSean @PeterCserne @GumppTobias @JakobKnapp4@KatIsaSch etc. Plus, an entertaining workshop tour by @ZiF_Bi artist-in-residence @MoritzWehrmann1!
A warm #ThankYou to all of you for this wonderful experience!
