@Cant_Be_Rated Companies release player specific apparel based on projected sales revenue. SC being white has nothing to do with the fact a for-profit organization believes her custom shoe will sell more than other players.
Financials don’t see color.
@shilltonkeynes@pxs_23@SprtBookReviews@MacEngelProf The people who believe soccer will grow massively in the US is a loud minority.
Reason it will never grow is exactly what you said. It’s the 5th sport at best here. It’s not cost though
Inner city and Deep South kids aren’t making it to NBA/NFL because AAU/camps are cheap
@shilltonkeynes@pxs_23@SprtBookReviews@MacEngelProf Fucked is a stretch….
These photos are a high school football team in Oklahoma. The complaining about not being good at soccer will go away in a week when people remember we don’t care about it that much.
@_davidskerr@Spider_Ram2024 And then guess where the couple talented kids from the other teams want to go? The top 2-3.
Then the rest of the teams REALLY suck and the kids lose interest because they get embarrassed and can’t compete. Then they quit
@DanClarkSports Why didn’t you come to defend Yermin Mercedes for just playing ball the right way then?
Guy got excommunicated for the league basically for hitting a HR and you said nothing
@shilltonkeynes@pxs_23@SprtBookReviews@MacEngelProf When you book fields in bulk upfront, you get a discount. There is value in certainty.
If they booked intermittently, they would almost assuredly pay more per booking hour and risk someone else booking it.
Then parents would complain about lack of schedule consistency
@shilltonkeynes@pxs_23@SprtBookReviews@MacEngelProf It’s not broken into terms because your payments for uniforms, field time, tournaments and hotels are not broken into terms.
Those have to be paid upfront.
@pxs_23@SprtBookReviews@MacEngelProf Why is it dark then? It’s literally just how life and business works.
Most scenarios where people pay an installment fee are entirely optional…
@dave_wakeman@SprtBookReviews Industry in soccer translates to convenience. The barrier to entry to start soccer teams and run tournaments is VERY low.
So the “industry” is simply the convenience teams get by not having to organize it all, and others’ lack of willingness to put in the work
@pxs_23@SprtBookReviews@MacEngelProf Well, someone has to pay it upfront.. so you are paying the cost of what their money could be making them elsewhere
@dave_wakeman@SprtBookReviews Why is the cheapest sport on the planet so expensive?
So many people saying it should be cheaper, so why isn’t it? Start your own clubs, run your own tournaments…
There is a component that people are overlooking that is making it this expensive.
@ClayTravis Wait until you hear how much travel ball costs for the sports USA is good at….
USA didn’t win men’s/women’s hockey gold because travel hockey is affordable.
$5k is the cost of a weekend tourney for hockey, baseball, lacrosse, 7on7, AAU basketball
