Four questions that can tell you a lot:

1. When you wake up, do you expect the day to have many joys or many frustrations?

2. When presented with an opportunity, do you have a bias toward action or do you postpone decisions?

3. When things go well for others, do you enjoy cheering them on or do you hate to hear about their success?

4. When things go wrong, do you believe it is your responsibility to improve the situation or do you blame others?

@pastorjgkell Not daily, but often ask the people I serve closely with some version of, "How have I failed you?"
Learned it from a missionary who has given most of his life in the least-reached places in the world. It was a common question he'd ask the team he led.

Looking for some folks who enjoy reading memoir—humorous but hopeful, about marriage but really about change, some dabbling in mental health.

Courtney and I have gotten a round of beta feedback and are making some tweaks. I would love to know if anyone here would be up for giving it a read when we do that (probably two weeks out). We need people who don’t know us and are more vested in the idea than the people living out the idea. But you can BECOME vested in us.

Met a 21yo seminary student at a Starbucks this summer. Having gone to eight years of seminary I figured I'd introduce myself.

Took him to dinner later that week and asked what makes his generation anxious.

"Wondering if we can afford a house."

Not what I would've guessed.

Started September 2nd with a floor of 20 minutes—working on a memoir about my marriage to @CourtneyGooger called You Talk Too Much.
