Competitive pool player Lynne Pinches has launched a CrowdJustice campaign to fund a lawsuit against Ultimate Pool for discrimination and victimization.

The dispute follows a November 2023 incident where Pinches walked away from a tournament final to protest competing against a trans-identified male player, Chris "Harriet" Haynes, which successfully pressured the organization into temporarily creating a women-only category.

Due to subsequent safety concerns and harassment from activists, Pinches began wearing a bodycam to events for personal security under police advice.

In April 2025, she was ejected from a venue in Wigan by security, who claimed she intended to film "anti-trans" protests, an allegation Pinches strongly denies.

Ultimate Pool subsequently issued an incident report and placed a permanent ban on Pinches after she refused to sign off on what she calls an inaccurate account of the event.

The ban prevents her from competing or attending events as a spectator, meaning she can no longer watch or travel with her young son who also plays on the tour.
