@bellaadinnda That's half the reality.
Someone had to buy those machines, probably with a loan.
Someone has to rent the place those machines are.
Someone has to pay the electricity and water bills to operate the place.
And he has to pay the workers.
If it was easy, EVERYONE would be an owner.
"Obscure Nazi symbol" doing a lot of work here. I'll bet he's NOT an actual Nazi (there are so very few). But that tattoo speaks to attitudes and judgement. You would demonize him if he wasn't on the Left.
If you're unironically calling Graham Platner a Nazi, you're not a serious person.
He's a doofus who got drunk with his military unit overseas, they all got a tattoo, he later learned it was an obscure Nazi symbol and he stupidly kept it anyway because he thought it looked cool.

I guess I'd have to see a list of the reasons to burn a cross in protest. I can only think of two, and they both relate to the Klan:
1. To intimidate people in the manner of the Klan
2. To fake intimidation of people in the manner of the Klan
@MrAndyNgo Why is a burning Cross always an assumption of Klan activity. It can be any number of protest reasons to burn a cross.
We aren't living in the 60's anymore people - the old narratives just don't work anymore.
@choeshow I mean it's humorous, and I have to appreciate the speed/starting ability in heels, but... c'mon man, why are you hassling hookers in convenience store? Not a fun life, why make it less fun for her?
Riots are awful and rarely the answer. But the narrative framing has begun.
If you were taking the SAT and had to come up with the thesis statement for the violence in Ireland and you answered "They just don't like immigrants", you failed.

Hey -- where did all the "riots are the language of the unheard" people go?
They must be hiding in the same place that the "It is wrong to wreck other people's stuff because you are angry" people.
Sad, but facinating.
When J6 happened, I got a pit in my stomach. Not because of the "coup" narrative, but because marches and riots had always been a Left wing thing. When I saw J6, I hoped that the Right wouldn't start taking to the streets, because THEN where would we be?
Belfast, apparently.
Every once in a while I mine the cesspool of X and somehow uncover a diamond. This is the way.
My only criticism: she said she was GEN X.
Redundant.
*OF COURSE* she's GEN X. I feel like we were the next step forward racially/socially, and it was taken from us.
Deliberately.
@vivivom101@David__Osland@iHoodscholar Yes. Terrible to see a group of people burn down their own city. Sure, the attack was terrible, but is the number of attacks as high as they *feel* it is?
I'm just glad things like this don't happen in America.
@Heliotrophy How does having a child with down syndrome lead to financial ruin and psychological devastation? Everybody I know is just raising their kid.
