Cabaran ekonomi global yang semakin meruncing, diperburuk oleh ketegangan geopolitik, menuntut Malaysia untuk menilai semula keutamaan ekonomi negara dalam suasana ketidakpastian yang kian mencabar.

Ketika berucap dalam Forum Ilmuwan Malaysia MADANI Siri 11 yang bertemakan Kesatuan Ummah dalam Menghadapi Krisis Geopolitik malam ini, saya menegaskan bahawa meskipun sebahagian tekanan ekonomi berada di luar kawalan kita, kerajaan harus kekal tangkas, responsif dan berpandangan jauh dalam mengurus risiko jangka pendek, di samping merencana hala tuju yang mampan untuk jangka panjang.

Kerajaan pada masa ini masih berupaya mengekang kenaikan harga bahan api domestik, dengan RON95 kekal antara yang terendah di dunia. Namun demikian, kita harus akui bahawa langkah ini menuntut komitmen fiskal yang besar dan perlu dinilai secara berhemah demi kelangsungan jangka sederhana dan panjang.

Sehubungan itu, perkembangan semasa menuntut kita untuk memperkukuh keupayaan meramal dan mendepani risiko, sama ada dalam jangka pendek mahupun sederhana, dengan pengurusan ekonomi yang lebih strategik dan berfokus sebagai teras utama dasar negara.

Dalam dunia yang semakin bergelora dengan krisis geopolitik, perpaduan umat Islam bukan lagi sekadar pilihan, tetapi satu keperluan yang mendesak.

Kekuatan kita terletak pada kesatuan yang berteraskan prinsip, berpaksikan keadilan dan nilai kemanusiaan sejagat. Setiap langkah dan dasar yang diambil harus menjurus kepada matlamat yang jelas menentang segala bentuk penindasan serta mempertahankan hak mereka yang dizalimi, khususnya saudara-saudara kita di Palestin.
