It's #WhaleWednesday 🐳
#DYK each summer, narwhals (🦄+🐋) wait at the ice edge for a crack wide enough to swim along? Here they spend a lot of their time in deep dives searching for food. Narwhals feed on Greenland halibut, #Arctic and polar cod 🐟 squid 🦑and shrimp 🦐
It’s #WorldSnowLeopardDay!
To celebrate, here are some incredible camera trap images from @WWFNepal. We don’t know much about this elusive species, so with every sighting we learn a little bit more about their behaviour, their habitats, and how we can protect them.
#PolarPride day is coming: 18th November (#LGBTSTEMDay)! Join us to celebrate wherever you are in the world!

Great #news! Plans have moved forward to protect Tuvaijuittuq. This important area in the Canadian High #Arctic is almost the size of Germany. Part of the #LastIceArea, this region is where sea ice will persist the longest in the face of #climatechange.

“The Arctic is in melt-down - it is warming over twice as fast as the global average. #ClimateChange means that walrus, polar bears and people may soon face an ice-free Arctic ocean during the summer, unless we take urgent action now."-Rod Downie, Chief Polar Advisor at WWF-UK.
