The majority of HS athletes won’t play at the next level. The HS athletic experience should be built around what’s best for those athletes, not the few who are lucky enough to continue to play. Build your program to include all of your kids. HS sports should be about HS athletes!
"There are a lot of teams with talent, but the ones that have that chemistry, that culture, that "it" factor, those are the teams that are going to rise.
Our biggest strength is our togetherness and unselfishness.

Winning is somewhat uncontrollable, because even if you play your best, your opponent may play better. Therefore, you should focus more on your attitude and effort, which are entirely controllable. This will help you maintain your motivation and composure in games.
PARENTS: Many teachers, coaches, and administrators are in challenging situations w/no clear-cut solutions. Instead of joining the mob that criticizes and 2nd guesses, try to understand the complexity of the situations. Extend some grace & empathy. Maybe even encourage them 😀
Humility is the true key to development. Guys often lack humility & it completely hurts their trajectory. Ego stunts development! Parents make basketball decisions for kids based on what looks cool & comfortable. The grind & process are never smooth. Think long term not short!
Coaches: Never forget, the more respect you’ve built with your players, the more demanding you can be. You earn that right by seeing them & treating them like people first & players second. The greater the trust & respect between player & coach, the more demands leaders can make!
Our kids lift weights in-season. Period. It’s the expectation. And yes, even on game days. And if you don’t like that or agree with it, this just isn’t the place for you to coach or be a part of our athletic programs. It’s not punishment. It’s research based development.
Your brain follows what you feed it. If you’re a complainer/excuse maker, your mind will easily find things to be upset & angry about. If you look for happiness, opportunity & abundance, you’ll be more likely to see those around you. Your mind makes a difference in your outlook!
It’s always the kids who’s parents want to coach/complain from the sideline who never make it. Some of you parents need to sit back and let these high school coaches do their job. If they want your input they will ask for it. Be supportive and let coaches coach their teams.🏀💯
