New short course on Automated Testing for LLMOps, by @CircleCI's CTO Rob Zuber! This teaches you how to adapt some key ideas from CI (continuous integration), which has been a pillar of efficient software engineering, to building LLM-based applications.
Tweaking an LLM-based app to improve it -- say by modifying a prompt -- can have unexpected side effects. For example, what if a teammate updates a prompt to try to make the LLM output sound more interesting, but this causes it to hallucinate more? Automated testing, as part of your approach to LLMOps (LLM Operations), helps avoid these problems and lets you ship faster and with greater confidence.
In this course, you’ll learn to:
(i) Write LLM evaluations to cover common problems like hallucinations, data drift, and harmful or offensive output.
(ii) Build a CI workflow to automatically evaluate each change to your application.
(iii) Orchestrate your CI workflow to run specific evaluations at different stages of development.
CI is especially important for AI applications given the iterative nature of AI development, which means we often want to make many incremental changes.

"Honeycomb meets customers where they are…”
We’re thrilled to share we’ve been positioned as a Leader in the 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for APM & Observability for the ✨ second ✨ consecutive year! 🎉 Download the report to learn more. https://t.co/42QFOKHq7n
🧂 @mipsytipsy always brings the salt!
Check out this article from @TechTarget's @PariseauTT, where our CTO talks about what #NaturalLanguageQueries add to Honeycomb for customers and what makes Query Assistant different from 'tossing #AI on the salad' 🥗 https://t.co/vnyBjc0Fce
We’re thrilled to introduce Query Assistant, the first fully-executing Natural Language Querying capability for #observability using #generativeAI. Available now, learn more here ⬇️https://t.co/F6Aiz3ERtd
Is it out with Web3 and in with AI?
Hear what this week's Bloomberg Technology VC guests had to say about the surge in interest in artificial intelligence👇. Tune in weekdays at 12 pm EST with @CarolineHydeTV and @EdLudlow
🗣️ “Instrumenting my code will make it slower.”
This is not true of the current state of #OpenTelemetry! 📢 @MartinDotNet gives evidence.
Is it enough to cease debate of performance impact so teams can debate the value of instrumenting code instead? 👀https://t.co/pUy0hPZ4bM
2/ Defining the category for #observability has been a goal since @cyen and @mipsytipsy founded Honeycomb. Now, interest in the concept and practice of o11y, as well as our role in popularizing it—has taken off like wildfire 🔥. Co-founder of @redmonk@monkchips shares:
1/ We’ve got some big news to share! We’ve raised a $50M Series D round that will ensure we can continue to invest – with conviction – in improving the lives of software engineering teams through #observability. @cyen details how in her latest post. https://t.co/eTHQnXL8P2
With the release of our latest innovations—a new Service Map and improvements to make BubbleUp more useful and accessible than ever—we’re setting the new standard for what #observability tools should be able to do for you. @cyen shares more:https://t.co/gDa5VxSPwQ
YOU KNOW, YOUR CODE WILL NEVER BE PERFECT BUT IF YOU COULD SEE INTO IT, YOU COULD UNDERSTAND WHY OBSERVABILITY IS IMPORTANT AND HOW EFFICIENT YOUR CODE COULD BE INSTEAD.
"If you're working at Cloudflare, this is what the outcome of your technical work is: You are holding up a system that is designed to, by policy, harm marginalized groups." -- @lizthegrey on @Cloudflare's support of KiwiFarms. https://t.co/byqydu9WVA #DropKiwifarms
Honeycomb ruffled the first of many feathers nearly 7 years ago when we coined the term “observability” in talking about production code, shares @cyen. Today we get to celebrate being a Leader in the @Gartner_inc#MagicQuadrant for #APM & #Observability! https://t.co/oNx5IUrho0
