I built a macOS widget that gives me something to think about every time I glance at my desktop.

It pulls quotes from a Notion page I maintain and shuffles them every 5 minutes.

@NotionHQ stays as my CMS. No database migrations. No extra infra. Built in a couple of hours. Just a callout block, and it shows up on my desktop.

The stack:
→ SwiftUI + WidgetKit for the widget
→ Notion Blocks API to fetch quotes
→ TimelineProvider to schedule a new quote every 5 mins
→ Auto re-fetches from Notion once the full rotation is done

The part I liked most: the widget doesn't need the app running. Once installed, WidgetKit manages it entirely on its own.

Small thing. But every time I glance at my desktop now, there's something worth thinking about.
