- travis lands in india at 2 am - no visa. immigration plans to deport him on the next flight to nepal. uber still technically banned in india btw.
- at 10 am, we’re scheduled to meet the prime minister.
- i make an sos call to mr. kant. he says let me see what i can do and hangs up.
- few min later, the director of ib calls the airport and orders the plane not to take off without first offboarding travis
- but travis isn’t on the plane. where is he?
he’s buying time - walking to the plane as slowly as he can. one foot in front of the other. he tells the agent they’d have to handcuff him to make him walk faster. legend.
- word finally makes it through the layers of bureaucracy. they escort him back. he’s issued an emergency visa
- next day, we make it to the pm mtg on time. i also make travis apologize to kant for keeping him up all night and send me a picture as evidence
- in the months after, ride sharing would finally start to get recognition as a legitimate business model
