On Friday, we witnessed the launch of $SMACKM, our newest $PACK collaboration with @earthlingsland and @SentX_IO.

We couldn’t be more thrilled by the buzz around this release—though, understandably, it raised some questions. This thread aims to clear up any confusion and share more about our vision going forward.

Since the launch of $PACK, our objective has remained the same:
Make $PACK a core part of interacting with the @Hedera ecosystem—not limited to just in-wallet actions. While the wallet remains a cornerstone (where much of $PACK’s utility will always come from), we’ve seen $PACK adopted by @SentX_IO for NFT trading, used as a payment method for e-commerce stores like @RoosterCartel via @HashGateApp, and more. This growing list of use cases reflects our larger goal: to integrate $PACK deeper and deeper into the everyday activities of Web3 users on Hedera.

$SMACKM and the Smack Mosquito game were born from the community's excitement to welcome new users into Hedera, spearheaded by the Earthlings team.
Seeing the potential for low-friction onboarding, we partnered again with Earthlings and SentX to create a simple but high-quality Telegram game. By leveraging a fun, meme-worthy concept that anyone can understand, SMACKM should be able to draw mainstream audiences into Web3. The hope is that these new users will eventually discover the broader Hedera ecosystem, including HashPack, creating a ripple effect of adoption.

Additionally, we saw an opportunity to provide extra utility for $PACK and Concierge Collectible holders through the Smack Mosquito game—allowing them to earn additional yield simply by playing.
Separating $SMACKM from $PACK was intentional: it let us welcome new users with a fresh token while rewarding active community members who hold $PACK, $STEAM, or $SENTX. By doing this, we avoid inflating $PACK ’s supply unnecessarily—preserving its value for future features. Meanwhile, newcomers who earn $SMACKM through gameplay (and don’t hold other HTS tokens) may realize they’re missing out on bigger rewards. That alone could incentivize them to acquire additional tokens, creating a positive feedback loop of user growth, token demand, and deeper ecosystem engagement.

Regarding the launch of $SMACKM — why did it launch the way it did?

From our discussions with the SMACKM team,
with the rapid rise of the @MemeJobFun platform, they saw an opportunity for a fast launch by providing 100% of the needed amount to complete the bonding curve. This also made seeding the initial liquidity pool on @SaucerSwapLabs more straightforward.

The SMACKM team did not anticipate snipers arriving immediately upon launch. A stealth launch was conducted to manage supply and safeguard tokenomics (details forthcoming). In addition, the vast majority of acquired tokens will be distributed to users to encourage active participation in the game.

As mentioned above and in the official @Smackmio X statements, the purpose of $SMACKM is to serve as an onboarding tool at the top of the funnel.
It’s a fun way to introduce newcomers to Hedera and Web3. Over time, we anticipate they’ll dive deeper—discovering HashPack and the broader Hedera ecosystem, thus driving long-term community growth and utility.
