For Those Who Listen To Music

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“No one regularly sings or listens to song except that his heart falls into nifâq (hypocrisy) without him realizing. If such a person understood the reality of nifâq and its end he would see it in his own heart.

Never do the love of song and the love of Qur’ân come together in a person’s heart except that one expels the other.

I and others have witnessed how heavy the Qur’ân feels to singers and song-listeners; how they coil when it is recited and how they get angry with a reciter when he recites too long for them (in prayer etc); and how their hearts do not benefit from what he recites: they are not moved to do anything by it.

But when the Qur’ân of Shaytân comes, lâ ilâha illallâh! How they lower their voices and settle down! How their hearts feel at peace and how the crying and emotions start, how moved they are inwardly and outwardly and spend on clothing and perfume and staying up hoping for a long night ahead. If this is not nifâq then it is certainly the way to it and its foundation.”

If you have a Gmail account, you need to read this.

Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how.

Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:

1. The Main Switch

This is the main setting Google shows you, but it's not the only one.
Gmail (Desktop):
⚙️ Settings → See all settings → Smart features and personalization → Uncheck "Turn on smart features in Gmail, Chat, and Meet" → Save Changes.

2. The Hidden Switch

Turning off the first setting isn't enough. Most people stop there.
On the same settings page: Google Workspace smart features → Manage Workspace smart feature settings → Turn off both checkboxes → Save.
Both settings need to be turned off.

3. Your Phone

The settings don't always sync between devices, so check the Gmail app separately.
Gmail app → Menu (☰) → Settings → Select your account → Turn off "Smart features and personalization" → Confirm.

4. Delete Gemini History

If you've used Gemini before, your chats may be saved, and some could be reviewed by humans.
Go to https://t.co/L7GOsTS1wM
→ Turn off Gemini Apps Activity → Delete Activity → All Time.
This removes your past Gemini chat history and stops future conversations from being saved.

5. Move Sensitive Emails

Turning off Gmail's smart features helps, but for truly private emails, consider using a separate service.
For medical, legal, or financial emails, use a free Tuta Mail account. It offers end-to-end encryption and doesn't use AI to scan your emails.

Keep Gmail for newsletters, promotions, and less sensitive messages - if you must.

There was once a Hindu king in southern India, in Kerala. His name was Cheraman Perumal, and he ruled over the Chera dynasty. He was known among his people as a just and thoughtful leader.

One night, while standing on the balcony of his palace, he witnessed something extraordinary — the moon splitting in two. He saw it clearly, a majestic sign in the sky.

Disturbed and confused, he turned to his priests and advisors, but none of them had an answer.

In the following days, he spoke to Arab merchants who had come to trade along the Malabar Coast. When he described what he had seen, they told him that far away in Arabia, a man named Muhammad had declared himself a Prophet of God, and that this splitting of the moon was among his signs. It matched exactly what the king had witnessed.

Cheraman did not delay. He recognized the truth when it touched his heart. He left his kingdom and traveled with the merchants.

The journey was long, but he eventually reached Madinah.

There, he met the Messenger of Allah. He sat with him, asked questions, and listened. Then he accepted Islam. He took the name Tajuddin (RA) and became a Sahabi — a companion of the Prophet — the first Muslim from the land of India.

Before returning, he gifted something from his homeland: a jar of Kerala ginger pickle, which was accepted.

He intended to return and spread the truth, but on the journey back, he fell ill and passed away. His son-in-law, who was with him, returned to the kingdom. Cheraman was buried in Salalah, Oman — a place that, to this day, resembles the green lands of Kerala more than the deserts of Arabia. The people of Salalah still know his grave.

Islam did not enter India through war.
Not through political conquest.
But through one king’s sincere search for truth — through a miracle witnessed, a journey undertaken, and a heart that submitted.

Kerala became a gateway for Islam in India, a land touched early by divine guidance.

Tajuddin (RA) was not a scholar. Not a preacher.

Just a man who saw a sign… and followed it.

His story is a reminder: Islam begins in the heart.
