@_MissClick_ Omg I remember there was a mini game where you have to sit on the balance board and the game throws distractions at you - your goal is to remain still. My brother and I came home one day to our radio on the balance board… our other brother left it there to get a high score 🥸
@_MissClick_ You too huh?? Wii Fit was maybe the only game that me and both of my brothers fought over to have a turn with growing up - we kept wanting to beat each other’s high scores!
- Ocarina doesn’t have a 3 hour tutorial
- Ocarina’s story is truly dark… Twilight Princess just tries to be dark
- Ocarina’s items are actually useful outside of their respective dungeon
- Ocarina’s Hyrule field takes like a minute to cross. TP’s is unecessarily big
@dmc5dmc52@SeeksOut_ *sigh* I know there are darker stories out there - it’s bold to assume that I haven’t engaged with darker content. The Last of Us is an all time favourite of mine.
However, Ocarina successfully explores its darker elements, whereas (to me) TP doesn’t.
Treat others with respect.
@KanikouEstellia The entire game is teaching you new mechanics - you obtain the mirror shield in the final dungeon, and that dungeon teaches you how to use it. That doesn’t mean the entire game is a tutorial. You’re making meaningful progress in those 1st 3 dungeons.
@SummerKiyohime You’re comparing apples to oranges - Twilight Princess and BOTW take very different approaches to game design.
Ocarina of time and Twilight Princess have very similar blueprints, and for my money, Ocarina accomplishes its goals far better than Twilight Princess.
@LLAMA___KING I’m not saying it’s the most insane story ever, but Hyrule town’s residents being killed, link losing his childhood, the shadow temple having literal torture devices, and gorons being fed to volvagia are absolutely dark.
@PlasmaticNinja Why would I play a game that holds my hand for hours when I could play a game that lets me play (and has taught me all I need to know) within minutes?
