@_Matthew1017@cartierfamilyZ Was there some evidence that he had real fear of being killed by the other kid?
Punching or shoving the other kid would be a proportionate response. Deadly force is only reasonable in self-defense if you genuinely believe you are likely to die.
@tariqnasheed Doesn't self defense require the response be proportional to the threat?
Was there any reason for him to genuinely feel that the other guy was going to maim or kill him?
That begs the question of if there is an opportunity to cite a 3rd amendment violation here.
When courts have ruled that the government can restrict what a farmer grows for his own use having no intent to sell it to anyone else because it still falls under the interstate commerce clause due to it's affect on the market, I'd say anything's possible.
No one is saying the police need to prioritize property value over stopping dangerous criminals. What we want is that innocent 3rd parties who are harmed be able to be made whole by either the government who did the damage, probably through the government having to have insurance for this sort of thing, or for insurance policies not automatically excluding government action.
Why would you think it appropriate to wish harm on someone who's highlighting the stories of people who've genuinely been harmed through no fault of their own?
According to my cat, he is.

There are people with inadequate nutrition. But it is extremely rare for someone in this country to truly starve to death. I've been poor, and had to rely on charity to eat before. A lot of the charity food is stuff I wouldn't touch today now that I can afford to feed myself, but to someone in an eat or die situation, it was a feast. And it is always available.
How is it not a right?
Am I not entitled to the fruits of my labor?
What you advocate is socialism and/or communism, yes? Under that system I am entitled to the fruits of YOUR labor.
Which makes more sense? I benefit if I work wether or not if you do, or I benefit if you work wether or not I do?
@martylunsford@ClownWorld It's becoming increasingly difficult to find non-HOA homes. In my state more than 80% of all new construction is in HOA. If you exclude rural construction that number approaches 100%.
@Clock_Hypocrisy@MattWalshBlog Genuine question:
If the British aren't considered indigenous to that island, how long does a people group have to live in an area before they can be considered indigenous to that area?
@tbuss76@ZeekArkham Trump has been booed at his own rallies when he touted things people didn't like.
Countless MAGA have disagreed with him. MTG, Massie, Bobert, etc. They still believe in MAGA but not Trump.
What prominent Democrat has questioned party leadership?
@warDaniel47@Lily4Liberty There is one part of this fraud I don't understand. To get assistance when you actually need it is a nightmare of paperwork, interviews, doctors, monitoring, and borderline surveillance. So how do these guys get away with it so easily?
I'm afraid you are. This time it's not got anything to do with islam. It's standard European football hooliganism. Definitely a bad thing, but a different bad thing than what you are saying it is.
Never forget, usually isn't always. Usually these are what you describe, but not this time.
Yoda speaking that way never bothered me. If he's 900, there's a very good chance that the way he speaks was the norm when he learned basic. Consider how English sounded 500 years ago, or 700, or 900. Very different from today and pretty much incomprehensible to most modern English speakers.
Add to that, he has no trouble being understood, so while it's weird to others, it's not a hindrance on his day to day life. Between "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and "old dog, new tricks" I can very much understand him not changing. If he was unable to communicate then it would probably be different, but because he can, why should he?
Grogu.... I got nothing.
@emelia_hedstrom@ClownWorld The car had time enough to change lanes. That means there was also time enough to try to slow down.
If break lights had come on at the same time as the lane change then this would be 100% the truck rather than 60%
@emelia_hedstrom@ClownWorld Just because you have right of way doesn't mean you shouldn't also take steps to avoid a collision.
In this case, breaking was both possible, and the only way to avoid the truck who pulled into the right hand lane.
@ClownWorld Mostly the truck, who didn't make sure they had clearance before pulling out and pulling into the far lane so the car couldn't go around.
Partially the car for not slowing down in case the idiot driver did the idiot thing and made a wide turn.
