Recently, $ICP has been on fire. My timeline is flooded with posts about it.
But writing this article is purely out of technical curiosity — it’s not any kind of investment advice on $ICP. And honestly, after such a big pump, a correction seems inevitable.
As an old crypto native, my impression of it was basically “just another consortium chain.” I heard about it a few times years ago and never paid attention again.
Until a couple of days ago — because of the explosive popularity of @caffeineai — I noticed people like @tmel0211 and @BTCdayu praising ICP’s “product strength” and “technical architecture.”
My first reaction was dismissive — isn’t this just some vibe-coding platform?
There are tons of Web2 platforms doing this better: @vercel, @base44, and many more.
But when I actually checked out @caffeineai and read others’ analyses, I realized—
almost no one is clearly explaining the fundamental logic behind $ICP and @caffeineai.
For someone without any prior ICP knowledge, it’s really not friendly.
So I got curious and started digging.
My questions were simple:
1️⃣ What problem is ICP trying to solve, and how is it built?
2️⃣ What exactly is so impressive about @caffeineai, and how does it achieve that?
As I went through the materials, I was honestly a bit shocked.
ICP is trying to solve a massive pain point in Web3:
There are thousands of blockchains and tens of thousands of dApps, but when you open any so-called “decentralized application,”
the front-end is hosted on AWS,
the database is on Firebase,
and only the contract is on-chain.
“Decentralization” has basically become an empty shell.
But ICP’s ambition is to put front-end, back-end, and storage all on-chain.
For developers who’ve written countless backend scripts listening to smart-contract events — this hits the pain point perfectly.
BTC = decentralized money
ETH = decentralized computation
ICP = decentralized internet applications?
So let's take a look at it.
Which dev does this?
The ONLY DEV in the space that ACTUALLY CARES about each and every community member’s well being is Ron.
Ron checks on me often and I can’t be more grateful for the relationships I’ve built since $UFD bonded on 12/17/24.
He’s a legend. UFD is legendary.
