Sub: Complaint regarding the death of a community dog due to negligence by GHMC officials – Request for enquiry and appropriate action.

Respected Sir,
We residents of Barkatpura Housing Board Colony, submit this representation on behalf of the colony residents.
Our colony residents regularly feed, vaccinate, and sterilize the community dogs. On 28.06.2026, following a complaint regarding an accident involving a two-wheeler, GHMC officials led by Dr. Agnivesh captured a community dog named Groot and shifted him to the Moosapet Government Animal Shelter.
Despite repeated requests for his release, Ms.Sadguna, Asst. Director Veternary Wing refused and allegedly threatened that the dog would be euthanized. After about eight days, the dog was released in a critical condition. He was immediately admitted to a veterinary hospital but unfortunately died the same night.
The incident raises serious concerns regarding the treatment and care provided to the dog while in GHMC custody.
I therefore request you to kindly order a thorough enquiry into the matter and take appropriate disciplinary action against Dr. Agnivesh, and Ms. Sadguna,Asst . Director & other officials found responsible for negligence, so that such incidents do not reoccur
