I'm on an amazing peds ethics rotation and was admittedly shocked by "Trisomy Bias" aka the idea that we teach learners that trisomies like 13/18 are fatal, those born with it may be offered less interventions/die earlier, and therefore the data keeps supporting that belief set.

I worked alongside Paul for a year. Cannot emphasize enough how humble, compassionate and hard working this man is. He is chancing medicine in incredible ways.
Unbelievably proud of our #HeLIX alum, Paul Cho, for modeling vulnerability and advocating for better mental health support for us all.

@NaliJulia I suspect this isn't an explicit thought process, but a bodily trauma reaction resulting from the toxic stress of medical training and practice. We teach sitting with a patient to trick them into thinking we're listeners, but we should sit to calm our own flight response. -M
Today was my last day of M3. I’ve been so lucky/grateful/starstruck to work with these providers for the past 10 months at Minneapolis’s community hospital @HennepinHC_GME.
They provided humility, patience, and grace through the growing pains of 3rd yr. Thankful for you all ♥️
In the 7th installment of our #BIPOC series we talk with @Michael_Kim_DSA, who discusses depression, the shame that traditionally occurred in medicine, and how @umnmedschool is addressing wellbeing.

Today’s review of cafeteria eats is a spotlight on some underrated favs🥸
😋First up - the sushi 🍣 Some may squirm at the idea of sushi this far from the ocean, but hear us out. (Veg options too) 8.5/10, could come with more ginger.
😋for dessert, may we present for consideration the brownie cup! Cute lil brownie squares, oh so pop-in-your-mouth-able (and shareable). Not too cakey not too fudgy, dense but not heavy. 9.99/10 because nothing is perfect
