"Our goal in this present life must be to prepare ourselves so we can depart with our conscience at ease when God calls us close to him."

St. Paisios
"A Christian should avoid unhealthy religiosity: both the feeling of superiority due to virtue, and the feeling of inferiority due to sinfulness. One thing is it to have a complex and another humility; one thing depression and another repentance."

St. Porphyrios
I have recklessly forgotten Your glory, O Father; and among sinners I have scattered the riches which You had given me. Therefore, I cry to You like the Prodigal:“I have sinned before You, O compassionate Father; receive me a penitent and make me as one of Your hired servants.”
“Even if someone is covered by an abyss of sins, if he repents and does not lose hope, the devil fears him, because the paternal heart of the Heavenly Father yields when His prodigal son says, ‘I have sinned.’ He runs first, embraces him, kisses him, and kills the fatted calf…
My newborn son sleeps a lot (after he’s satisfied w/ diaper changes, milk, and burping) so I figured I could use that time to sit next to his crib and read Scripture and #Orthodox books again.
What are you all reading nowadays? I need to get on my Kindle and get some new books!
@SonOfTheEP Yes, if I can deal with knowing a lot about the ever-warring Gallagher brothers from Manchester, I think I’d enjoy reading and knowing more about David Dickinson too. 😆
For some reason, my wife and I love learning more about British history and pop culture. So interesting 😄
“For this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found” (Luke 15:24). The theme of this Sunday of the Prodigal Son is repentance, leading us to contemplate the necessity of repentance in our relationship with our Heavenly Father. https://t.co/rNdkHSzrRK
@Drunkzoomer May God always keep you and your baby! May God bless you all.
