Speed of response is everything, and it's still lagging far behind. Essential explainer on the Congo Ebola outbreak from @JeremyKonyndyk. https://t.co/z3puWzs5eh
@larry_levitt Just like unintended consequences of legislation that create legal options (but bad policy) that companies or people take advantage of are described as “loopholes” with the implication that they are illegal 🤷♂️
@jrovner What makes you think they can’t change grammar when they can’t do 7th grade math involving percentages? Maybe they think they are the heir to e e cummings? [Pick another option if your choice]
@cleanbreak24@kjgillenwater@lucythegreat123 I thought it was a typo and you meant “gate police” who were telling people they had to check their bags because there was no room or the bags were too big etc. 🤷♂️🤡
@jrovner Just like Davy red states knew that Medicaid expansion was a fiscally smart move - just ask former OH governor Kasich who was a long time fiscal conservative.
@larry_levitt Maybe - and I’m just speculating here - since the least expensive health care is no health care, that the MAHA advocates at HHS are promoting the concept of less testing > less illness > less treatment > lower costs. “Living is easy with eyes closed misunderstanding all you see”
@DrewAltman The new ones since 2003 are clearly Trust and severe crisis in primary care. I would also add people biohacking (eg injecting peptides, taking ivermectin or high dose vitamins to prevent measles), but that’s also clearly a result of much more mistrust in the HC system & providers
@DrewAltman 23 years ago (June 2003- 6 months before passage of the MMA) i was asked to talk to state medical society presidents about the future of the US health care system. One of your colleagues said that we keep accumulating problems without solving the old ones. Your list is good.
