My Altroz Diesel is just 30 days old and has run only ~600 km. Last week, I noticed a knocking/scratching noise above 2000 RPM and while shifting gears. Roadside assistance towed it to the service centre.

There they found the engine clamp bolt missing — but initially tried to hide it until I showed them earlier photos proving the clamp was out of position.

After insisting on a full check, they suddenly claimed “oil leak and underbody hit” to deny warranty. But that bolt is inside the engine cover, so an external hit would break the clamp, not the bolt — clearly a manufacturing or assembly fault.

During inspection, they also found the MAF sensor wire broken — I accepted that it could be due to a rat bite and even requested a quotation for that repair separately.

Still, the team is trying to shift blame for the bolt and oil leak onto me instead of acknowledging a possible assembly issue on a brand-new car. Extremely disappointed with how this is being handled.
