🚨Breaking News: CEO of Buc-ee’s said he refuses to try to expand in blue states!!

The CEO of Buc-ee’s said the quiet part out loud, and every governor in America should be listening. Co-founder Arch “Beaver” Aplin made the announcement at the August 17 grand opening of the chain’s newest travel center in Benton, Arkansas.

He told the crowd that life is too short to build in places where people don’t appreciate what you bring.

He said Buc-ee’s has plenty of opportunity and plenty of growth ahead, but a conservative, business-friendly state with a phenomenal workforce makes all the difference.

Aplin went further. He said the conservative, business-friendly, family-oriented approach works best when it flows from the top.

That means the governor’s office, the congressman, the senator, the mayor, and the local representatives all pulling in the same direction. He praised Benton as exactly that kind of town. City leaders there cleared the path, and now their community has landed one of the most popular retail brands in the country.

Anyone who has pulled off the highway at a Buc-ee’s knows what Benton is getting. A typical location covers 74,000 square feet, offers 120 fuel pumps, and creates more than 200 jobs.

The company opened its first store in Texas in 1982 and has grown to 58 locations across 14 states. Families plan entire road trips around the clean restrooms and the brisket sandwiches carved fresh behind the counter.

A single Buc-ee’s changes the economics of a town. Construction crews work for months before the doors ever open.

Once they do, hundreds of workers earn steady paychecks and sales tax flows to local schools and roads.

Travelers who used to drive straight through now stop, fill up, and spend money at the small businesses nearby.

Aplin also singled out the workforce, and he was right to do it.

The people of Arkansas showed up ready to work and ready to make a new employer feel at home. Conservative communities keep producing workers like that because they still teach the dignity of work at home, at church, and at school.

Employers notice, and they reward it.

Blue-state politicians should ask themselves why a company this successful wants nothing to do with them.

The answer is written in every statehouse that piles taxes on employers, drags permits out for years, and treats every job creator like a piggy bank.

A gas station should be the easiest permit a city ever approves. When a company decides even that fight is not worth having, the problem runs deep.

The pattern reaches far beyond one travel center chain.

For years, moving vans have rolled out of California, New York, and Illinois and into Texas, Florida, and Tennessee.

Some of the biggest names in American business have moved their headquarters south for the same reasons.

They go where taxes are lower, where energy is affordable, and where elected officials answer the phone when a business calls. Workers and families follow those employers, and tax dollars follow the workers.

The Founders built a system where 50 states compete for citizens and capital, and that competition is working exactly as designed.

Arkansas rolled out the red carpet&won hundreds of jobs. States that scorn employers are watching those same jobs drive right past their exits.

The map of where Buc-ee’s is headed next tells the story.

A new travel center opens in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on November 16. Six more are slated for 2027 in Ruston, Louisiana, Kansas City, Kansas, Gallaway, Tennessee, St. Lucie, Florida, Boerne, Texas &Monroe County, Georgia.

Two more follow in 2028 in Mebane, North Carolina and Lafayette, Louisiana. Every one of those communities said yes to growth, and every one will see the benefits for decades.

The lesson for governors and mayors could not be simpler.

Cut taxes, clear the red tape,&respect the faith, family&hard work that built this country.
