Perinatal Mental Health Nurse working in Maternity, inspired by life experience, and mum of many kids striving to make a positive difference in the world
That was the most emotional speech I’ve ever given. It was an honour to host the first ever debate on this issue in our Parliament. I’m thrilled that the Government has listened to my call to do more to tackle #birthtrauma.
“Change the Story: Break the Cycle reveals the extraordinary potential that recent science is offering to improve health & reduce human suffering now and for generations to come, by nurturing & supporting mothers, parents and babies during pregnancy and in the first few years.”
This literally brings tears to my eyes.
Midwives are the most likely NHS professional group to report feeling 'often' or 'always' burnt out.
Urgent investment and strategy is needed to change this shocking statistic

Important read for those working in MH. “Trauma-informed care should not be static…it should look different for each individual”. “Trauma-Informed Care” Left Me More Traumatised Than Ever https://t.co/Util3qmlCa
Really liked seeing this, a family is a family it’s a simple as that, we need to support all parents. Times have changed and we now have access particularly to fathers we haven’t had before.. no excuses anymore, supported parents are more equipped to support children!!..simple.

This year's #WorldMMHDay theme is 'Stronger together' which truly resonates with us. Over a decade ago, our founders Dr Alain Gregoire and Emily Slater recognised the power of clinical and lived expertise coming together to influence change; the MMHA was born. #MaternalMHmatters
