John Oliver, "The Conservatives have had 5 different prime ministers over the past 14 years.. It's worth briefly revisiting all of them"
1⃣"David Cameron.. Austerity.. Brexit"
2⃣"Theresa May.. More austerity, two child cap"
3⃣"Boris Johnson.. His time in office was a shambles.. Britain left the EU on the same day of the first case of the corona virus was announced.. His handling of covid was an unmitigated disaster"
"For the record there is only one actual f*ckpig in Downing Street.. David Cameron.. As a student at Oxford he once put his d*ck in a dead pig's mouth"
4⃣"Liz Truss who had the shortest tenure of any British prime minister in history.. Her budget full of tax cuts for the rich which caused a mini economic crisis"
5⃣"Sunak the wet.. A man who literally does not have the sense to get in from the rain"
"Brexit created red tape that has grown exponentially.. Trading goods with the EU is now so onerous that many businesses have chosen to relocate into mainland Europe which is not good news for the UK"
"Brexit is estimated to be costing the economy about £100 billion a year"
"While Brexit makes the news, austerity is the legacy of Cameron and his successors because it has in so many ways obliterated public services"
"Take the NHS, years of under investment have left it gutted and understaffed.. Wait lists for NHS treatment have exploded.. More than 7.5 million waiting for non emergency treatment, that's over 2.5 million when the Conservatives came in in 2010"
💥 NEW: The government has been ordered to reveal to us the details of Rishi Sunak’s dealings with a hedge fund he founded, which made huge profits during the pandemic after it invested heavily in vaccine manufacturer, Moderna ⬇️

Post Office bosses plotted to raid the pensions of wrongly accused sub-postmasters to make up discrepancies in accounts.
Even when they knew that the IT system was faulty.
Extracting cash from innocent postmasters boosted bottom line and exec pay.

Dear @EE
Appreciate you did DM me but slightly confused as to how after being advised to provide my details & doing so, I was then told that they can't access my account... btw I did confirm, as they did to me, that the account is closed 🤪
A beautifully sophisticated system
Hi @EE 👋
I'm currently on holiday & received an email to say I've missed a payment on my EE home account. I have an email from 23rd March from your billing team confirming the account is closed and nothing is owing so I suggest you DM me on here to sort this ASAP.

Thank you Marina for posting this. I have been researching SEZs for +5 years.
The article @mikegalsworthy posted was written by the incredible @AnnAubert3 (please follow her), it refers to a meeting I was also a guest speaker at, in Nov 2023. The meeting was titled 'You now live in a Freeport area; what does it mean and does it matter?’ concerning the Plymouth and South Devon Freeport, chaired by @GeorgeMonbiot You can watch the video here👇🏻 https://t.co/zKGWP8AQuz
Know that Freeport legislation may cover entire cities or regions, not just the Freeport itself, as in China which these SEZ are modelled on.
This next bit is going to cause an uproar, and I apologise but these are the facts. People are totally unaware that a cross-party alliance includes Labour MPs, Mayors, Lords, and Baronesses who are sitting members of the Freeports/SEZ consortia in England, Scotland, and Wales, here are their names👇🏻 https://t.co/MZNHrE5nhz
IMO this confirms why Labour say no to rejoining the EU, why they want to 'make Brexit work', and why more importantly they are now backing 'ports', (notice the wording) in official press articles (examples in above link). It is not the case Labour 'inherited' the Tories Freeports and SEZs, they actively supported them.
Shocking.
The SEZs are tax-exempt for 10 years, Freeports and SEZs are deregulated 'states within states', a bit like a Russian doll, or a room within a room. These 'carve-outs' fall under WTO rules that allow the Govt to give preferential treatment in the form of State Aid to companies of their choosing, this is what happened with the PPE scandal, (bungs for chums). Apply this next heist of public money to 74 SEZs across the UK, 48 in England, 18 in Scotland, and 8 in Wales. This as well as the 12 Freeports which will all be 'maintained at astronomical cost to British tax payers.
We need to discuss this far more publicly, there is too much at stake and it's all because of Brexit.
After the effect of 'Mr Bates vs the Post Office', let’s hope Toby Jones is also working on new TV dramas about water pollution, climate change, covid, PPE contracts, the refugee crisis, the cost of living, energy prices, and the NHS
@hbscltd True bill. Before they put that lovely huge visitors centre right in the middle so everyone, esp #tourists think they have to go through there to see the natural wonder...
