The new research from @Ipsos and @fund_defi confirms a massive structural shift: Crypto is moving from speculative trading into everyday household finance.

Key findings:

1. Bipartisan Reality:
• 22% of Americans now own or use crypto (up from 18% in 2025).
• Adoption cuts straight across party lines: 24% Republicans vs. 21% Democrats.

2. Practical Utility Over Hype
• 85% of Americans open to DeFi want to use it to SAVE MONEY.
• 82% want to use it to send funds directly to family and friends.

3. The Familiarity Gap
• Only 9% say they are very familiar with crypto mechanics; 35% can't clearly describe it.
• Adoption is outrunning education: users need seamless, invisible infrastructure, not complex crypto jargon.

4. The Policy Mandate
• 35% say candidate support for next-gen financial tech is important (15% R vs. 13% D high importance).

The Takeaway: When 1 in 5 Americans hold crypto for family savings and remittances, the real bottleneck shifts to asset preservation: How do we protect and pass down this wealth when life happens?

As crypto becomes everyday finance, automated non-custodial protection and succession rails are no longer edge cases.

They are essential financial infrastructure.

One week out from the midterms, we’ve got hot new research from @Ipsos and @fund_defi on how Americans view the US financial system and new technologies like crypto and DeFi.

Americans are using crypto more and want to try DeFi for everyday finance. Candidates should take note.

A few things stand out:
More than 1 in 5 Americans (22%) have owned or used crypto, up from 18% in 2025. It holds across parties: 24% of Republicans and 21% of Democrats.

Crypto use is growing faster than understanding. Only 9% of Americans say they’re extremely or very familiar with crypto, and 35% aren’t sure how to describe it.

DeFi’s appeal is practical. Among Americans likely to try it, 85% would use it to save money and 82% to send money to friends or family in the US Both numbers are up from last year.

1 in 3 Americans (35%) say it’s important for candidates to support building the next generation of financial technology in the US. Republicans (15%) and Democrats (13%) are nearly identical in calling it extremely or very important that candidates back crypto, blockchain, and DeFi.
