This is a good example of government being invisible when it’s working correctly. You didn’t get rabies bc the govt is working for you, but you don’t know it.
New Yorkers should be proud of the character and sensitivity with which their mayor represented them today and during the days leading up to the 9/11 commemoration. He kept the focus where it belonged.

"If we want to oppose this new fascist strain, we really have to get a move on. 'I don’t tend to use this language, I try to be measured, but I think I’ve earned the right to escalate,' she says. 'The moment we’re in, people are really mad and however mad you are, it’s not enough.
Because there is something so profound about no longer believing in the future, about seeing no value in our shared home, in the natural world. They’re traitors to creation.' https://t.co/T3lT9Q0CUI
Shanah Tovah, New York!
Wishing all Jewish New Yorkers celebrating a sweet, joyful, and meaningful Rosh Hashanah. Here’s to a new year filled with health, happiness, and blessings (and yes, even another Knicks championship).
Dear Americans, if there were ever a ‘most impeachable high crime’ by the President, and a ‘most repugnant crime that demands prosecution’ by the DOJ lawyers…
faking a crime to charge & arrest an innocent person to please an insane teetering would-be tyrant would be that crime
Trump, rodeado de rancheros: “Ya puedes dispararles.”
Habla del lobo gris mexicano. Quedan 317.
BREAKING NEWS FOR WOLVES.
Today, surrounded by ranchers and other livestock interests in the Oval Office, President Trump signed an executive order targeting federal protections for gray wolves, including the endangered and critically imperiled Mexican gray wolf.
The order directs the Secretary of the Interior to determine whether wolves meet the legal criteria for removal from the Endangered Species Act list. It does not delist them today, but it begins a process that could remove federal protections and allow expanded lethal management under state law.
During the signing, wolves were portrayed as threats to livestock and pets, as creature to be shot and destroyed. This factually incomplete, deeply one-sided, and ignorant framing did not acknowledge the documented scale of wolf predation relative to other causes of livestock mortality, nor the extreme rarity of wolf attacks on humans, nor the indispensable ecological role wolves play on the landscape we call home.
Wolves are a keystone species and apex predator, crucial to sustaining the health, function, and balance of our ecosystems.
Wolves must not be scapegoated to advance a political agenda.
Their future must be determined by sound science, the law, and the requirements for genuine recovery.
Truthfully, this is a dangerous moment for wolves, wild horses, and wildlife, and we must speak out.
Raise your voice. Contact your Members of Congress and tell them to defend federal Endangered Species Act protections for wolves.
Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard: (202) 224-3121
We cannot lose the wolf.

Fossil fuel demand is still growing, but solar and wind are growing faster.
EVs are surging as oil prices spike.
The transition is happening. The question is whether we accelerate it fast enough to avoid the worst.
Speed matters.

This morning in Danbury, ICE was arresting parents at school bus stops.
But it’s more sinister. ICE waited until the kids were on the bus so when they are dropped off at the end of the day, they are alone, scared to death they can’t find their parents.
I’m heading to Danbury.
