Yeah, people generally lack decorum.
Like the time the US Army saw fit to conduct PT here for a short-lived recruiting campaign highlighting physical fitness as a benefit of service.
Or the time they ran through Arlington on the army's birthday.
Not what we envisioned when this was dedicated 20 yrs ago. Now it's a rec pool with people leaving trash all over. Mobile vendors around every memorial. Many @NationalMallNPS in shade at Folk Life Fest where NO ONE needs policing. They told me still illegal but not enough staff.
Back in the day, there was a silent competition between "handle," "nick," "screenname," and, later, "tag," among others.
I'm a little disappointed that "handle" seems to have won some decades later. Never liked it.
A snippet from my VA Post-Separation TAP survey response:
I believe TAP to be simply another mandatory event soldiers must endure for the military to provide the DoD coverage to say they met their statutory obligations and that a veteran's failure to adapt is his or hers alone.
This is the [BRAND] Memorial Day sales event!
[Waving flag] [BRAND] is honored to serve those who serve with our limited time deals on [ITEM1] and [ITEM2]. Or you could drive off in a brand new [ITEM3].
Guy, Mem Day… is for those who died. They're not driving any time soon.
This is the result of a 6-month investigation. I can't believe it!
I mean… I can't believe it took that long to gather sufficient evidence, given the DoD's steady budgetary increases with no tangible gains. Why not milk that cash cow of taxpayer money?

There's a weird trend that's been around the army for at least 20 years, mostly with enlisted folks.
Team, your signature block in email does not have to be "Last name, FirstName." That's a myth and it's just awkward.
Just put your first name first.
@HeatherTregle Unfortunately, how good you are at something is highly irrelevant to the army institution, who wants warm bodies that fit the mold to fill slots.
@Heather_at_ACTS Travel… sites? El Morro in Old San Juan, El Yunque, almost any beach, Pinones fod carib food, Santurce and Condado for upscale and museums, snorkeling, bioluminescent bay, Culebra and Vieques. Quite a bit!
Travel, itself? Drive *extremely* defensively.
As sometimes happens in the army, they went around today collecting everyone's birthday. They tend to send you a star note or whatever and call it leadership.
Anyway, I told them it was January 15th. It's not, but I doubt I'll still be in this job by then, so…
If you're reaffirming your commitment to an ethical code of conduct, surely you won't be bothered by independent oversight to that end.
