I'm Hiba, a solo iOS dev from Pakistan 📱
My first app was rejected by Apple 8 times. My last two passed on the first try.
Now I'm building:
• BrainHD, an ADHD planner (130 users)
• Monetra
I share App Store lessons, real numbers & what I'm learning.

@FloWritesCode The backorder point is a relief for small teams. If you only had one weekend, what would you fix first for Duo: layout breakpoints or App Store screenshots?
@ghz86 That 669pt width is sneaky. It falls right under most iPad breakpoints. Centering instead of stretching is a nice touch. Adding this to my pre-submit checklist.
@SebastianRoehl Four years in and still nervous is weirdly reassuring. I refresh App Store Connect after every release like it owes me money 😅 Do you use phased release or ship to 100% right away?
Building a health-related app?
What got me rejected:
• Medical disclaimer only in the listing, not in the app
• Unclear wording around what the app does (not a diagnosis tool!)
• Missing subscription terms + restore button
All 3 are on my pre-submit checklist now.

Certificates, identifiers, provisioning profiles… explained the way I wish someone had explained them on day 1.
Make all four exist and match, try a blank upload, and if it succeeds, the rest is a review problem.

@ghz86 Mainly UI polish, medical disclaimer wording, and paywall compliance (clear subscription terms/restore button). Dealing with health guidelines early on was tough, but it taught me exactly what Apple looks for now!
@kwernapp Exactly. A successful build doesn’t always mean a successful submission. Having a pre-submit checklist saves a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth.
@kwernapp The account and subscription setup caught me off guard the most. Now I double-check agreements, product IDs, subscription metadata, and real-device testing before submitting.
The 12-point checklist I run before EVERY App Store submission ✅
After 8 rejections on my first release, I stopped treating this as "notes to fix after review" and started treating it as a gate. Hangar and BrainHD both passed on the first try.
