Sometimes, love hurts. Sometimes, the lost dog doesn’t want to be found.”

So dark, so painfully true.

‘This year, I renewed my commitment to read more works by South Asian women.’

I was asked by @TheNewsonSunday about my favorite reads of 2023. Some books that stood out were by @HibaHeba_ @farahali06 @tweetingayesha @SumanaSiliguri and @NoreenMasud

Actor Lee Sun-kyun
( March 2, 1975 - December 27, 2023). May he rest in peace. Among his many wonderful projects, Lee was praiseworthy in "Parasite" and exceptional in "My Mister." May he be remembered for his excellent work and creative gifts.

"Origins of Humankind" from my poetry collection, 'Birth of a Mural.'

I felt compelled to share this poem. I wrote it during the pandemic when Palestine was suffering, and it continues to do so, which breaks my heart. #FreePalestine

I never find words right away. Poems for me always begin with images and rhythms, shapes, feelings, forms, dances in the back of my mind.

is a solitary act.”

@AkhtarSascha The other day, I asked AI to provide feedback for a few of my poems. It kept saying the same thing over and again for each poem. Just a little more wordy, is all. 😒
