@NickKristof@nytimes@AGSNYT You were called a despicable liar and a soulless grifter for your story on Israeli dogs, but maybe folks rushed to judgement:

🧵1/5 Short thread about the Satellite Images of Gaza
There is much focus on the "new" Google Earth images from Gaza that people have just found about, even though the new ones came out already in may 2026.
However, when taking photos from a satellite of a desert area, with white buildings, in the middle of the summer, makes it so that all contrast goes away in the image and nothing is green. This sells the effect of most of it being rubble, even though it is not true.
Here are images from Sentinel-2 taken on 17 March 2026, showing the four areas of Gaza that is not Rafah. Images from December to March is when Gaza is mostly green. From April to November it looks like a desert (because it is).

1/2 In the Vendée, which is generally not considered a genocide, Republican troops killed about 25% of the population and destroyed about 20% of buildings. In Gaza, the IDF has killed about 3% of the population and (it seems) destroyed about 80% of buildings.
@GeorgeDillon@DonalMoloney10 Translation: “Your clearly stated facts challenge a false narrative that I’ve built my otherwise unremarkable identity around.”
@AlexanderSoros See kids, this is called “gaslighting,” and Alex is doing it to advance his dystopian agenda while covering for the scourge he and his family are upon the Jewish people.
@RepRashida This is the sort of Islamist taqqiya that has unfortunately been imported into the west - always twisting facts, purposely leaving out hundreds of American citizens killed by Palestinians, and more importantly, completely ignoring the needs of American citizens in Detroit.
