@real1314@Maurice_davies@MartinSLewis Or do your tax return as soon as you get your p60 so you can pay by direct debit over the year rather than lump sum or few big payments from Jan 25. As a single parent this one bites hard.
@ISC_schools@HMMHSFrensham@JulieR_isc Many children at my daughter’s small independent day school, nothing like public schools such as Eton, struggled with additional needs in state schools. Independent school is the last resort. It is about survival not advantage. I work full time and have a weekend job to pay fees.
@annalapwood I leave the lights up until Candlemas (although the tree comes down at epiphany). I like a few fairy lights to lighten the darkest months. The batteries in the lights have just about died by Candlemas.
@annalapwood Dreamt last night that I couldn’t find any of the carols in A&M revised and kept the congregation waiting as I got more and more flustered. Our vicar chooses the carols which means three different hymn books, at least one C4C and a pamphlet of carols with a military provenance.
@martinmcneely Not to mention the insane obsession with designer labels. My 15 yr old spent £70 on perfume and shower gel in West Quay yesterday. Granted she ruthlessly recycles clothes on Vinted to fuel spending habit so it’s not all my money she’s spending.
Great to hear from @juliathrift@kevin_mcgeough@HillerbyKate earlier today at #KFHomesAndHealth. Really staggering to see some of these pictures of poor quality, unhealthy homes being created perfectly legally in the UK today:

@MJBartlettPiano @RevRichardColes I play an old Bluthner at my parents, the touch is feather light (my Dad is an organist). It is very difficult to play delicately but fun to go full pelt. I have an upright Brinsmead which was my great grandmothers and has a lovely tone and touch.
@RevRichardColes Alan Rusbridger’s Play it Again has an interesting section on how he chose his piano. I’ve got a feeling he had a Steinway and a Fazioli which seems a little extravagant. Maybe he went from one to the other. With you on the digital piano issue. Doesn’t feel right.
@Becca5652000@DukeNorina@RoyalFamily I’m completely ignorant about this but is there a connection through the Royal Stewart clan and possibly Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon who grew up at Glamis?
@drantbradley@martinmcneely Well that’s weird. Never heard this hymn until an hour ago when I heard a somewhat creepy rendition while watching Pretty Little Liars with my daughter and now it’s appearing in my twitter feed. As an organist I’m surprised I haven’t come across it before tonight.
@Philippa_Perry Son at college, retches and vomits with anxiety before going into college and I often have to pick him up at lunch time. I always keep promises to pick up or will breach their trust. Both kids have ASD diagnoses, son has EHCP.
@Philippa_Perry We moved ours to a small, non-selective private school with classes of 15. We are not well off and we struggle to get to end of month. She is doing half days at the moment and online in the afternoon and is just about keeping up. School working with us to keep her engaged.
@sharpeleven @KatePoels One nursery and one primary I sent my kids to went from outstanding to inadequate while they were there. I chose the schools for pastoral care. The rating drops were based on box ticking and paperwork. Didn’t judge how happy the pupils were.
