“Exploiting a tax credit loophole” is another way of saying “exploiting taxpayers.”

Taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to subsidize billionaires, and billionaires shouldn’t be allowed to buy the politicians creating loopholes in our tax laws for them.

Trump’s obsession with these vulgar memorials to his own vanity is a reminder of the darkness around him, of his hostility to democracy, his loathing of honor, and his disordered mind.

We are born, and they care for us.

And if we’re fortunate enough to have them for many years, there may come a day when we are the ones caring for them.

This deeply moving scene is from the 2011 film A Separation, written and directed by Asghar Farhadi. In the film, Nader is caring for his father, who is living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Farhadi has shared that the image of a man bathing his father with Alzheimer’s was one of the images that inspired the story itself.

There is something profoundly human about the reversal we witness here.

The hands that once held us.
The person who once protected us.
The parent we once believed could do anything.

And then, sometimes, life changes the roles.

Caregiving can hold love, exhaustion, tenderness, grief, frustration and gratitude all at once. Caring for someone doesn’t always look beautiful. But sometimes the deepest expressions of love happen in the quiet moments no one else sees.

At IPHI, we believe parenting and family well-being extend across the lifespan. The relationships we build, the care we give, and the dignity with which we treat one another matter, from our earliest years through our oldest.

If you still have your parents, hold the ordinary moments a little closer.

One day, they may not feel ordinary at all.

President Donald Trump and the U.S. Postal Service risk unleashing “massive chaos and confusion” by implementing expansive mail voting restrictions weeks before the upcoming midterms, a widely respected elections expert said in a new court filing. https://t.co/KysaXmBAbC

NEW: Thousands of ballots could potentially be rejected due to a single error during this year's midterms, according to a bombshell whistleblower report.

The report outlines in detail how USPS's implementation of Trump's anti-mail voting executive order could leave large numbers of voters disenfranchised. https://t.co/HbzKo6CW4C

This is no coincidence. This is a multi-part plan by the GOP to make it harder for you to vote and easier for them to cheat.

Trump's response? Cutting FEMA, the agency that helps us survive disasters.

I have a bill to reverse Trump's cuts and restore crucial resources for families across the country.

Bill Cassidy, not content with having helped confirm an absolute anti-science lunatic to lead HHS, has announced he is voting to confirm Todd Blanche as AG, Trump’s former personal lawyer who has helped make the DOJ an arm of Trump’s lawless whim.

Inexcusable cowardice.
