It is ridiculous to say that the British Army should be at a Council jobs fair in Derry this week - this is a made up row for the DUP and it’s incredibly insensitive in the week that the Bloody Sunday families are heading to court to seek justice.
It's not necessary to leave the ECHR over immigration because its authority is collapsing anyway. It's been effectively suspended by Germany and Greece and partly suspended by almost everyone. Nine member states are demanding it be re-written.

Majority support in NI for extending Irish presidential voting rights.
It is a disgrace that I, as an Irish citizen, living on the island of Ireland, can not vote for my president.
Long past time for the Irish government to correct this historical wrong https://t.co/EwvLXDEKuH
There are only 5,000 full-time farmers in Northern Ireland, and many of them accept things need to change. Why are the stubborn remainder so politically sacred?
While denouncing David Trimble, Jeffrey Donaldson secretly presented himself as far more moderate than the hardline image he cultivated, suggesting he might enter government with Sinn Féin without full IRA decommissioning, according to declassified files.

Worth pointing out- again- how remarkable it remains that this loyalist parade is hosted by an overwhelmingly nationalist city. As an example of generosity & tolerance in our divided society, it has no equal. Akin to 120+ Republican bands parading through centre of Bangor/Lisburn
"Burn, burn, burn the traitor!" DUP supporters shouted at David Trimble for compromising. Now we know it was talking secretly to SF for years. The DUP owes the mother of all apologies to the UUP for the venom & vitriol it unleashed at the party for years.

Excellent article by @TrinityRTPS alumnus, Abie Philbin Bowman: ‘Whether we’re moving towards a united Ireland or a shared island, we need to face questions about identity’
The DUP “did the dirtiest ever you seen”, says one of two ex-DUP MLAs who've quit the party...followed by a constituency branch which has folded. He says: “They’ve finished themselves — they’re not being straight and honest with the public.”

So it's now 9 years since the vote to leave the EU. For a detailed account & analysis of what happened from the day after that, see my book, "Brexit Unfolded: How no one got what they wanted (and why they were never going to)" (2nd, updated, edition 2023): https://t.co/80TRsbtqoa

The embedding of paramilitaries within certain NI communities is now so deep - and so accepted by officialdom - that it has become like the situation in Animal Farm, with the supposedly respectable and the supposedly illegal are formlessly entwined
