Finding it hot outside? Spare a moment for animals being trucked 24+ hours in open-sided vehicles without AC. All perfectly legal in this country. Thanks to @JessLReid for shining some light. https://t.co/swlh1fVHxo
Trucks used to transport farmed animals to slaughter across North America are not required to have climate control. To cut heat, panels are simply opened to allow minor air flow. Animals routinely suffer. So what happens now, when that air is saturated with smoke?
Finally, someone said it: "@NicholasDCarter an ecologist and researcher working at @Plant_Treaty, said in an interview with CBC that deforestation and animal agriculture are contributing to climate change and the province's wildfires." https://t.co/9K5H0JYNB5
Manitoba hog industry should pay attention! Animal Welfare concerns are main stream now! California has the country’s strongest animal welfare law. Now it just needs to be enforced. https://t.co/a70fLzKYw3
From 2021, for @Sentient_Media:
“Even if meat-eaters are presented with information that connects zoonotic diseases to meat production and suggests the solution is to no longer consume meat, they’re much less likely to accept that truth.” #BirdFlu

Canadians expect better from our governments, and from companies that are profiting from using animals. Animals deserve modest improvements to prevent some of the worst forms of suffering. Thanks to MFA for this scorecard, and you can read it here. https://t.co/o6HKTg38zt
A new wave of activism targeting factory farms is trying to narrow the gap between what’s legal and what’s ethical. https://t.co/idYHpPjnXD #mbpork Why can't we let the public see what goes on inside hog barns???
How to ag gag laws violate constitutional rights? 🤔 Preventing journalists & animal advocates from exposing animal abuse restricts freedom of expression—one of the most important human rights in Canada. #StopAgGagLaws
These 5 practices are allowed and not considered cruelty. What do you think? Should they be allowed? It doesn't have to be this way. Family farmers are raising pigs without this type cruel treatment. #manitobahogs
Another signal for the hog industry to pay attention to. California consumers are not unique, many more consumers care about animal welfare. #manitobahogindustry#mbpork#MinJohnson
NEW POLL: California’s Prop 12 took a major step to protect farm animals from cruel confinement. 80% of voters want to prevent farm animal cruelty — and a strong majority want to see animal protection measures from both politicians and corporations.

A true champion for real justice—for humans and non-humans alike. Clay argued one of the most important animal law cases in Canadian history, on behalf of an elephant named Lucy who is imprisoned at the Edmonton Zoo. RIP 💔 https://t.co/EaspOjn8Ji
