The U.S.A. doesn’t make these solid brass snaps anymore. Not a single one.
Just a few decades ago, USA manufacturers boasted that “9 times out of 10” they’d make the parts in New Britain, Connecticut.
Casting brass and finishing these snaps used to be a competency of American manufacturing. Now it’s gone.
We were able to get our hands on a few boxes of these NOS snaps from 1951 for a project launching soon. Keep an eye out!
@je4n_luc_picard@thewoolshire I suppose I’m judging USA lamb based on a local farm raised lamb so it may have been a cut above conventional American lamb.
All that to say, mainstream American lamb can become a thing to behold.

I’ve been doing leatherwork for over 12 years and it’s taken that long to bring 100% USA sourcing together for a lifetime duffle bag. Thanks for helping us bring back USA Manufacturing!

@4GrahamWilliams Thanks for the leads. We’ve bought from both companies but haven’t been able to get this piece. I’ll ping both and see if they have any solutions.
@Must_Save_USA Interesting. We just had a “Made in Italy” belt come into our shop that was built like a cheap laminated department store belt. Devoid of its roots and depressing.
