@adv_fulcrum In personality cults culture Advocate you make sense but in ideology or issue based politics you are way offside! CAB3 fight needs/needed a broad alliance of which your faction is not part of. I will not hazard a guess/reason for this. History however allocates you a side.
@daddyhope Hopewell’s tweet makes interesting reading but I also sense its biases against Christian religion tenets. My understanding of Zimbos is different in that I see naivety and scavenging outside liberation war political activism. Zim is thus stuck or backslides politically.
I remember reporting almost two weeks ago about Zimbabweans camped outside the Zimbabwean Consulate in Cape Town. What I do not understand is this: these people have made it clear that they want to return home. We all know they did not plan for these circumstances. They have been stripped of their livelihoods and, in many cases, no longer have the financial means to get back to Zimbabwe.
What stops the President from instructing the Minister of Finance and the relevant ministries to organise buses to transport our people from Cape Town back home?
What stops the government from allowing them to cross the border with their personal goods and belongings without charging customs duty, given that this is clearly a humanitarian crisis?
This is not a complicated policy issue. It is a basic act of leadership and compassion.
What I struggle to understand about the Zimbabwean government is that you see men in expensive suits and women in elegant dresses, yet they fail to think in such simple, practical terms.
At times like these, a government should be seen doing what governments are meant to do, protecting and assisting its citizens.
South African media have reported on the plight of these Zimbabweans almost every day. The situation is neither hidden nor unknown. Yet there has been no meaningful humanitarian response from Harare.
The government and its supporters will no doubt come up with all sorts of excuses. But this really is straightforward. Send buses. Bring your people home. Waive customs duties on their personal belongings. They have been forced into this situation by the climate of xenophobia and Afrophobia they have experienced in South Africa.
A government’s responsibility is not to make excuses. It is to act.
@bbmhlanga CAB3 is not wasting time on its payoffs and spinoffs already! Imagine the chaos and violence with no vacancy at the moment and how much worse it will get when there is a vacancy! I’m not enjoying these theatrics as I can see where it’s all heading!
Today has been sad and heartbreaking in Zimbabwe. CAB3 passage is as if there is neither incentive nor motivation of doing right progressive reforms. At this point let’s account for every mistake that gave opportunity to this debauchery and zviganandas.
@daddyhope Just let each woman decide who she wants to be her husband irrespective of one’s nationality or complexion! I am a firm believer that women are capable of making such choices without undue pressure or influence!
@wicknellchivayo Given the current MP propensity to accept bribes, as is this case. Zimbabwe is now going to be so unstable and ungovernable as MPs potentially can hold hostage any president or monarch or any hopeful. CAB3 has the same effect of breaking the string that holds thatch together.
@MacBelts There is neither political currency nor pressure to get zpf to accept such a proposal. If zpf couldn’t tolerate dissenting opinions on CAB3 what then would make it more agreeable to power sharing or step aside for transitional authority? Opposition has to restart itself united.
@tmuzenda746@LynneStactia Such denial is purely deceptive and meant to absolve Chamisa of Tshabangu rise! Tshabangu was a political pill for the ejection of the former MDC leaders from their assumed CCC positions. Apparently this experiment went out of control due to both naivety and infiltration.
@LynneStactia Tshabangu is no stranger to MDC politics and its variants . His subsequent appointments served the purpose and strategy of those appointing authorities! What Tshabangu is doing in CCC is the very reason he was removed from Mat North Prov Chair position.
@daddyhope@DavidColtart Caricature of constitutional debate in POZ today! Constitution is neither about an individual nor today but about serving a nation!
@giltheartisan@Jamwanda2@KMutisi The reality on the ground is that it wants 2 referendums and nothing else! I cannot and will not preempt the referendums’ outcomes! For sure the results will tell! No to CAB3 nonsense
If parliament can't even be truthful on the submitted emails you think it will have the probity to select a president? There has to be personal & irreversible individual costs so that no one in future will ever contemplate playing with people's livelihoods!
