As part of activities marking WAD 2025, HopeReach has conducted a 2-day outreach in Sarari and Bare communities of Gezawa LGA, Kano State.
256 children U-5 were screened 61% ( 25% SAM and 36%MAM)
Children with SAM received RUTF and referrals, while others received counselling.

In Women, high BMI and suboptimal breastfeeding increases the risk of acquiring breast cancer

From Distribution to Practice - Tom Brown in Action!

After receiving kitchen utensils, our Lead Mothers, together with some caregivers, took a bold step forward in Konduga and Gajigana, preparing Tom Brown by themselves with the guidance of our dedicated CNMs.

The grains were shared among caregivers for future use, ensuring that each household has enough to continue preparing Tom Brown at home for their children. It was a joy to see some caregivers feeding their children immediately with the freshly prepared meal, a true reflection of how knowledge and resources translate into healthier lives.

This moment captures more than just cooking; it shows ownership, sustainability, and impact. Lead Mothers and caregivers are now fully equipped to carry this forward in their homes and communities, fighting malnutrition one bowl at a time.

We had some wonderful snapshots of these moments, proofing that change is happening right where it matters most.
