In the month of June I have tried to help 79 individuals:
4-Seniors(Over 75)
9- Babies(3 Newborn)
27-Youth(Under 18)
40-adults(18-74)
Of these 79, 42 were homeless. 16 had no access to food. 3 had no access to prescription medication. 9 needed to get into treatment. 8 were sexually exploited. 1 passed and needed her pet looked after, and some funds to help with the funeral. A lot of grief, horrific suffering, confusion, and in the end, a lot of relief. Thank you all for supporting what I, as part of the @coalition4jhr, do.
This didn't age so well:
"Under no circumstance, will any Albertan ever have to pay out of pocket for access to... to get the medical treatment they need."
Except for surgery... (for now).
You see Premier, govt sanctioned pay to jump the queue is a "circumstance"
"Your understanding of the word guarantee is very different than that of most Albertans"
"Most people are deeply deeply troubled at the prospect of you reforming Health Care based on your 15 year record of advocating to make people pay out of pocket"
@RachelNotley called it.
Hey @ABDanielleSmith,
Why were you okay w/AISH clients potentially collecting federal money back in 2023? It almost sounded like you were advocating for them during an election year. But now, you need to claw an even smaller amount back? I know why, I'd like to hear it from you.
He was called “number 65” at a residential school with an electric fence around it.
Eighty-two years later, he’s brought a Pope to his knees in apology, helped write Indigenous rights into international law, and danced out of his walker in St. Peter’s Square.
This is my tribute to my friend, Chief Wilton “Willie” Littlechild — one of the most revered Indigenous leaders this country has ever known.

Alberta’s public health-care system is being steadily eroded by the UCP government as they barrel forward with their plans to introduce a two-tier, American-style, for-profit system here in our province. It’s not just wrong, it’s incompetent, because it will do nothing to improve services for Albertans.
Today, I sent a letter to Prime Minister Carney, calling on the Government of Canada to intervene under the Canada Health Act and protect public health care in Alberta.
The doc uses a roadway analogy:
Picture govt only builds REALLY EXPENSIVE TOLL roads, and leaves just ONE public road… and also takes all the road repair and snow removal teams away from that public road…
Also if you don’t have a very fast car you can’t use the Toll roads ever.
It’s official. Two-tier health care is coming to Alberta, courtesy of the ideologues and con men in the UCP. Step one: break the public system by underfunding and understaffing it. Step two: create a parallel private system. Step three: say goodbye to quality public care.
Alberta's finance minister is puzzled that the upcoming referendum will cost (significantly) more than a general election. Except that referendum day requires:
60,000 workers (13,095 in 2023 election)
45 million ballots (1.8 million in 2023 election)
Listen, yes they win a lot but lets not act like you're some dynasty with 1 ring there Kelly. Also, no one says you guys aren't good. They say ur pieces of shit.
Which... checks out

*Content warning: Survivors of Indian residential school’s are spoken about mid-video by Danielle Smith.*
I used to write her speeches. I believed her. Now I’ve read the record
-and it tells a different story.
Alberta’s Premier threatened First Nations chiefs with jail for defending their treaties. Two courts said her government violated the constitutional duty to consult. Chiefs’ letters go unanswered.
But in 2013, on the floor of the Alberta legislature, Danielle Smith predicted exactly this crisis. In her own words.
On the record.
She knew.
I went back to the Hansard documents E so you don’t have to. The full piece is up now on Indigenous Insider.

The record doesn’t lie.

Alberta, what do you get out of the $91,000,000, yes, $91 million referendum?
Nothing.
This $91 million could have been spent on building 3 schools, or 4 senior homes, or emergency rooms, hiring doctors or nurses.
Instead, you get nothing.
