I'm sharing an IG post from two gay Dads that sums up my reaction/thoughts on this bigoted behavior:

"I can't stop thinking about Pete & Chasten Buttigieg's kids. As a gay Dad, I can't shake it.

Every day, families like ours are targeted online. We're told our children should be taken away. That we're groomers. That we're abusive. That our families aren't real. People laugh it off as "just trolls."

But it's not just trolling. A false report led to Pete & Chasten's children being separated from their Dads for 24 hours. TWENTY-FOUR HOURS. I keep thinking about those kids. Were they scared? Were they crying for their Dads? Did they think they'd done something wrong?

What kind of sick, twisted person is willing to traumatize innocent children just because they hate who their parents are?

What kind of demented person weaponizes a child protection system that exists to save children from real abuse...just because they can't stand the fact that two men are raising a family?

This is why Pride still matters. Because our families are still being dehumanized. Because our children are still being used as collateral damage in someone else's hate. Because every time people normalize calling queer parents predators or abusers, they make this kind of cruelty more likely.
